Trek's IV, V and VI will be shown in 70mm. I'm hoping TMP is The Director's Edition, which the Egyptian has shown before from the DVD and it looked and sounded great.

Looks like it will be TDE that is shown, since they are interviewing the Effects guys who did the TDE updates following the showing. Sounds like a great series, wish I could go!

Argh! Seven years I lived in LA and never had something like this happen! I wish some place in New York would do this...

I'm surprised that the new effects looked good on a theatre screen, because they were rendered at 480p. Still, it's good to know, and I'd love to see TMP (either version) in the theatre. It's the only one I've never seen in a theatre.

Right in the middle of spring break when I'll be out of town. Darn.

I'm definitely going to try and be back in time for the screening of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, though. Nicholas Meyer is too interesting a speaker to pass up seeing in person.

They're not doing it the right way. They have to show all the movies all on one day. Start with TMP at 2 p.m. and go straight through to TUC ending at 2 a.m. Follow with fan party afterwards.

That's the way we did it before the premiere of each movie. We'd all get together and watch all the movies in sequence and then go to see the latest film on opening night.

If they did that, they'd attract a smaller crowd, and wouldn't have time for guests.

It would be fun, though.
