Maybe when Frakes said this was a show for the diehards, he just meant that there were characters names written on everything.

RMB's such a classic of someone who wanted to be a creative but flamed out and is still bitter about it even with their other successes.
We have had three versions of those characters by now, we don't need more.
As much as I loved Picard season three, it was mostly known characters. Time for something new.
So in a continuation of Star Trek Discovery S3 - S5 it seems everyone in the 32nd century only cares about stuff that happened 800 years earlier in the 24th century.

Looks more in the same style as the insignia Admiral Vance wears on his collar to me.
And he's been vocal about wanting Legacy, which itself would just be a wall of memberberries.

It really isn't. It's a fun little thing to connect the various shows. RMB is a bitter, jaded old man who associates with MAGA chud losers like Nerdrotic and Chris Gore. He's pathetic. And of course he drooled over Picard season 3. He's still salty he never got to make a series with Bryan Singer. Total loser energy.
Really, the only reason RMB was positive towards Picard S3 was because Matalas gave him inside access to the production, even his own copies of the scripts for each episode.
