Other sub-plots suffer a far worse fate, with Zoe Saldana's Uhura demoted to whining comic-relief.

That's JJ Abrams and the High Court everyone. Leading Star Trek all the way back to the 1960s. God, I hope ign.com is exaggerating.

Well that took long. Can't you just make a template of the same post, since you don't really post anything different.

Hey, at least the film makers and I have something in common now.

2nd page and now the discussion is already about other posters, not the film. Focus, people!

Well, for what we've seen of the female ensemble, it's not good. We got Uhura, the only female character in the original cast being reduced whining comic relief who pouts and frets a lot on screen, and Carol Marcus who pretty much has an english accent screams and stands around in her underwear in front of guys. Next thing I know you'll be telling me that the scene showing Kirk sleeping with two cat women actually happens in the film.

I did ask—in the brand-new Announcement that's at the top of the forum, right there above the pinned threads—that all reviews and links to reviews go in either the pinned Grading & Discussion thread or the thread specific to a particular premiere showing, so I'll be closing this now.

Jeyl, you're starting off this round by disrupting one of the very first threads (about a movie so new it's not even in general release yet) with more of the same old harangue, and that earns you a warning. I'll encourage you right now give some real thought to figuring out how to go about participating in a discussion without derailing it and making it all about you and your pet issues.

Thread closed.
