First Poster

No, he's playing a British Gary Mitchell....

Gone berserk because for the umpteenth time in two and a half centuries, England has been bounced from a World Cup Quarterfinal again, despite having hired a Vulcan Manager.

The reason why you don't see Wembley in the picture is that the football hooligans came storming out of the East End and tore it down after losing a Friendly to a team of Mugatu.

Are we sure this is supposed to be the late 23rd century London skyline? I know people say they see the London Wheel near Cumberbatch in the poster but even if that's the current Wheel by the Thames I have to wonder how many major cities survived the Third World War. Riker in First Contact said most of the world's major cities were destroyed yet San Francisco...Paris...London...they all seem to be intact and you'd think all three would be major targets in a worldwide nuclear bombardment.

This is 150 years or more after the Third World War. Most of Europe was rebuilt, including some significant landmarks, in far less time following WWII. And if you think the use of nuclear weapons makes a difference, Google some pictures of modern-day Hiroshima or Nagasaki.

So the "war-zone world" mentioned in the synopsis means civil-war London, with that 'nuclear weapon' building as the villain's HQ? I guess he has done some fancy genetic research there and that's why he has become so powerful.

And Enterprise dives into the Atlantic ocean.

I'm not sure whether I'm excited or not, gotta wait until the first trailer.

OH, Shit....I just figured out who the baddie is....London location, bad guy wearing outdated fashion for the times: he's evil Doctor WHO!!!!

Reminds me a little of the Nemesis teaser poster.

Pretty cool, even if the TDKR influence is undeniable. I'd say this is the most impressive ST movie poster since...well, I can't remember a cooler one.

This is the closest for me, but that might just be because it was the way I first found out about the movie.

I love the Into Darkness poster though. Too bad it raises more questions than it answers.

Sorry, that poster does nothing for me. Very generic. It tells us nothing and is in no way attention grabbing. It's as if they combined the posters for Dredd and Dark Knight.

It occurs to me that the date on the poster is done in the UK fashion (date, month year) rather than the US way (month, day year). Might this be a UK-centric poster for that region? I wonder if we'll get similar themed posters with different cities to promote the city around the world?

Unlikely, I know, as this one is also on the official website, but it might be cool.

I first saw just the lower portion of this poster with no text on another website. I thought it was Zod from Man of Steel.

Brit actor Cumberbatch playing a canon character, and the poster shows London. Conclusion: Cumberbatch is Montgomery Scott's nephew, Peter Preston, as Scotland finally achieves independence.

Really? Where are you seeing that? I see 05.17.13, not 17.05.13

I know someone else brought up Earth being the target in the last two movies. So that make Star Trek X, XI, and XII that have Earth as the antagonist's target. But I just realized that the villains of these movies all wear trench coats. Shinzon and his Viceroy wore trench coats, as well as Nero and a bulk of his crew, now Cumberbatch is sporting a trench. Have trench coats become synonymous with bad guys in movies now?

Haha just a funny observation
