First Picture of Shanks as Hawkman (Smallville)

It's concept art. Look closely at it; the background has an especially painted look. Plus, the article talks abouts Hawkman having a bronze chestplate to hide the rigging. The Hawkman in this pic is fairly barechested.

EDIT: Whoops, my bad. I just followed my own advice and took a closer look; it IS a chestplate. Still not convinced it's a photo, though.

We should start a poll.

How many people here:

1 -- Think the picture is real.
2 -- Think the picture is concept art (or variation thereof).
3 -- Don't give a fuck and are more interested in the design of the costume they are going with.

I choose option 3.

4 -- I don't watch the show, and I have no idea who Hawkman is, but for some reason I keep entering this thread.

That looks like the Katar Hol/Hawkman costume not Carter Hall's version which was in JSA not JLA or are they updating the origin to fit the mythos of Smallville?

That's my five cents

Carter Hall 0f the JSA for sure

His latest look.

How exactly are they going to introduce these clowns while maintaing the whole pretense that Clark's arrival on Earth and all the kryptonite he brought with him was the spark for metahumanity? And why would anyone be all that shocked to learn about them when some freaking bird boy was apparently a big-time hero not too long ago?

And sorry, but if they try for some kind of covert ops team or something, my poor eyes are going to roll right out of their sockets. A giant bird boy in shiny armor and wielding a honking big mace isn't covert ops.

^ It was never said on the show that there weren't Metahumans prior to Clark's arrival. Smallville just seemed to get more of them than other places because of the Kryptonite radiation.

Seems they're going that there was the full Justice Society which I find interesting for them to do.

I think other spoilers have suggested that there will be a reason why no one has heard of these guys before in the episode.

It's a photo, or rather, a still-frame.
It just doesn't look very good, because is it's the down-scaled picture of a digitally-shot HD-frame.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6hnKyEZFlg Yeah, it does look like they are going with the full JSA, but the ones they picked, Stargirl, Hawkman, and Dr. Fate aren't technically metahumans. Stargirl relies on technology, Hawkman relies on an alien metal, and Dr. Fate on magic.

I'm not that well up on the JSA, but was that a Green Lantern ring I saw in that promo?

Well, if they go with the Hawkman-always-reincarnates story, I think that would qualify him as a metahuman; but otherwise I agree.

Sandman, from the promo.

Sweet! This just gets better. :techman:

I have a feeling Sandman and Green Lantern are just brief glimpses in a flashback. Both showing identifiable costume pieces without having to cast an actor.

4 -- See a picture of the Mona Lisa if you rotate 45 degrees and wait for the planets to align.
