I'm seeing the Premiere of this tomorrow with an introduction by Jason Momoa. I'm really looking forward to it

There's also a tie-in collection of Howard stories. It's a mass market paperback, with Momoa on the cover, but I can't remember which stories are in it.

Okay so I saw it last night, I'll try and keep it as spoiler free as I can, but obviously if you don't want to know anything then skip this post.
I will have to preface this by saying that my enjoyment was hampered somewhat by being sat in the 4th row, it was a massive screen and it was in 3d so being that close made my eyes hurt a bit.
Also, I've only seen the original once and I can't remember that much about it so I can't really give a comparison to that.

First off it is fairly gory, but I wouldn't say overly so, however there are a couple of bits which are quite squeamish. There's a lot of blood being spilled and bone cracking, but the majority of the battle scenes are in the first part of the movie. Lots of cool fights and death, oh and his birth scene is similar in theme to Kirk's in Star Trek.
Jason Momoa as Conan is very charismatic and fierce. I really enjoyed his performance. Most of the cast did well actually, although Stephen Lang didn't really give his character much depth, even though there was the opportunity to do so.
Overall I enjoyed it, there was only one part - the fight with the sandpeople - which I felt dragged. Overall there was good action, good fights, blood, guts, and tits. What more can you want really
