Actually it was quite quick an easy to type "I'll take your word for it" and I was perfectly happy to leave it at that. If only it HAD been left at that.

Yes! Rhona is awesome, and it's a shame there were never any live-action Tomb Raider projects with her. I guess the timing never worked out.

I'm sure Sophie Turner will be fine. The first image they released was clearly a throwback to the original Core Design days of the character, which I appreciated.

She did audition for the first movie, but obviously couldn't compete with Angelina Jolie's star power coming pretty fresh off her Oscar win. It wasn't so much timing as it was that the producers wanted a big name.

I can't begrudge them for going with star power, Jolie was one of the biggest stars around at the time. It's too bad they never considered doing anything after her second film, though. If I remember correctly, it was pretty clear as soon as the second one came out that they wouldn't be doing another big budget movie with Jolie. There were still several years in the DVD sales boom, so I suspect they could have done a straight-to-video movie with Rhona Mitra that would have been successful. At least that's what I tell myself.
