First Look at Captain Lorca (blurry bridge of DSC)

Hey! Here's your captain.

Those uniforms are snazzy af. Maybe one day I'll win the lottery and be able to buy one when Anovos inevitably starts selling them.

That grim look on his face doesn't bode well for his chances of making it to season 2, amirite?

Goddamn I love royal blue!

Royal blue has always been my favorite color! This isn't helping that love of that color! Gotta have one of these uniforms!

Maybe he isn't Andorian because between his skin and uniform, it would just be too blue?

He kind of reminds me of Anderson Cooper like this, actually.

Well that didn't disappoint!

I'll admit, I was hoping for an alien. But he looks quite convincing as a captain there!

Damn! Dude's been working out. Looks good.

Also: Our first look at the bridge of the Discovery! Not much to see, except the color scheme seems to be pretty similar to the Shenzhou (mostly blue'ish grey, black, but with a little orange light added=. Not exactly disappointed or anything, but my wish for a TOS-like technicolor-madness-explosion for the bridge seems to not have been granted:D

" ... a steely Federation Starship Captain who’s considered a brilliant military tactician"

But but, Starfleet isn't a military.

What'cha gonna' bet that he's going to turn out as the main antagonist for Cmdr. Burnham?;) The one that has to be held back from escalating the conflict with the klingons?

It's nice to get to see another cast member in character. I was expecting him to be human, so I'm not disappointed. I really like the new uniforms.

Whether Starfleet is military is beside the point if one just acknowledges that the organization performs military functions when called upon to do so and that being good at military tactics is a useful skill. Kirk and Picard were both alleged to be pretty sharp tacticians - remember the "Picard maneuver" for blowing Ferengi up?

They should throw in some amber/golden orange tone for good measure. A lot of today's productions seem to go for that color combination.

And he isn't Andorian because Lorca is an Earth human name originating in Spain.
