First Convention

So there (finally) is a Trek convention near Chicago, so I'm heading up there tomorrow. It's my first time at a convention.

What should I expect?
What should I make sure to do?
Do they serve alcohol at these things or do I need to bring my own?
Is there a way to not spend a ton of money? lol. (I'm not a collector of anything)

Is anyone else going to/already at this convention?

PS: I'll be going as a jadzia style Trill. Simple and sexy

If the convention is in a hotel, the hotel restaurant/bar will have booze. Makes the costume events easier for the shy.

If you're not into autographs and memorabilia, then the big expense is just gaining entry to where you want to go.

Remember your camera (extra memory card too?).

I just did my first convention this summer and had a lot of fun. I'd just expect to have fun and be surrounded by a lot of Trek fans.
