I hate to be that guy, but isn't it 40 years and not 38? April 5, 2063 is First Contact, if it was 38 years from now it would be 2061. Unless there was a retcon I missed somewhere?

Yeah, I confused First Contact with the year Halley's Comet is supposed to return. It's right about its apogee now.

I'm expecting a trailer for SNW, and maybe one for Lower Decks but otherwise I'm not sure what else they can do for First Contact Day that hasn't already been done in the past week.

If I'm still alive that day, I'm watching Star Trek: First Contact. Just like I watched Back to the Future, Part II on October 21st, 2015 and will be watching DS9's "Past Tense" on August 30th, 2024.

I was born on April 6, 1963. That means the actual First Contact Day will be the day before my 100th birthday. I have already told my family and friends that I expect there to be Vulcans at my party.

It is a bit strange that they didn't hold back the Starfleet Academy announcement for today.

Would be nice to get a trailer or something for SNW or Disco but it seems quite low-key this year.
