First and last names of minor characters

Extrocomp sends me updates every few months. I don’t really look at them to see what has changed, but they are all up on the website.

I've been concerned that Ryan's website is not easy to find on Google and some authors might not know it exists. So I'm thinking maybe I should post my lists here on TrekBBS in a new thread, which can then be pinned by the moderator. If I divide the character list into 13 consecutive posts (1 for every 2 letters of the alphabet), I can avoid the problems I had before of the list having too much text to fit in a post.

Is this a good idea? Ryan, I really appreciate you hosting my lists for the last 5 years and I hope you're not offended by this suggestion.

Not a bit Extrocomp. Glad to be of service, and will be happy to continue to be if needed.

Also any suggestions or help getting the site or your pages to be easier to find are welcome. That’s one of my weaknesses for sure.

Is the word "timeline" in any of the site metadata that Google sees? The site comes up when I use litverse as a search term, but it is not in the first two pages of Google search results when I use Star Trek timeline or timeliner as my search terms.

I am also curious why those lists are on the right side of the home page and not with the other links like the Post-Nemesis Reading List on the left? Unless you are on the home page, it will take an extra click to reach the list of full minor character names.

So as I say this metadata aspect isn’t one of my strengths, and I haven’t much worked on it since I first created the site eight years ago. But ‘Star Trek timeline’ is in there, along with about twenty other seemingly relevant things. I did just add ‘Star Trek’ and ‘timeline’ separately.

My original intention was for the pages which are the main purpose of the site to be on the side menu, and the ‘side projects’ to be listed separately from the main page, so that the menu didn’t end up any bigger than necessary. To be honest, some of my more favored ‘side projects’ have made their way into the menu over the years. And I’m not totally happy with the way things are situated currently. Certainly something I want to reevaluate when I get around to giving the front page a facelift.
