Firefox Personas.

I prefer my browsing experience to be clean and minimalistic. I've even found the most minimalistic theme possible; one without any graphics -only words in my toolbars :rommie:

But...but, but After having updated this time 'round I was intrigued by the 'Firefox Personas' ad.

I now have a lot of 'Personas' downloaded and find them to be a lot less intrusive to 'clean browsing' than I thought at first.

Obviously I have a great number of the Star Trek Personas but also a few non-descriptive ones.

Any other Firefox users on the TrekBBS use Personas? -Which ones?

I tried the personas for a few days, but I couldn't stomach them. Being OCD, the images made the menu bar appear out of order. I also had trouble with the color schemes, in that they made tabs harder for me to see.

When it comes to browsers, I'm a minimalist. I don't like large icons or bookmarks menu bars. I don't like too much space between each one, and these personas, while nice in theory, only serve to aggravate that, so I just don't try them anymore. Plus, many of them just suck.

Oh, and you left your "non-descriptive" dictionary/spell check tab open. :D ;)

I hear ya' -on all points (and I wonder how long I'll last  ) xcept the one about the tabs being harder to see; I've been using the PageStyle2Tab add-on for a long time and find it quite usefull.

Didn't help me much to look it up though; word doesn't exist -apparently. Has to work with the hyphen though :rommie:

I've been using them - they're pretty cool in my opinion. Now, just have to make sure I don't download eleventy-dozen of them and only use two.....

Well, you can always make your own personas - you could mske a really small minimalist one with transparency that goes in the top right corner. A thread of mine from last year may enlighten you....

For me, when colors get too close together on a darker background, it becomes very hard for me to see.

Which I have now done. :D
I have to wait and get it approved though.

^Let us know when that happens -would really like to see it :)

I will. I just had to resubmit it because they said all images are to be right side aligned, and so I had to go back and fix that. Hopefully everything else is fine.

I also found myself to be quite intrigued by the personas option when I updated to 3.6. I downloaded plenty, but then I settled for this one, even though it's probably slightly embarassing.

Mine's technically a Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy one. It's just white, and in big red letters says; "Don't Panic."

This thread is good timing because I finally quit on Firefox today and went back to Internet Explorer. Firefox began its life as a svelte fox but it has devolved into a slow, unstable, bloated pig.
