I did happen to catch that when I was sketching her, but to my knowledge, it's just happenstance!
This was the first week in the last two years that I didn't have any major writing to do on EVA-Trek. Almost felt weird to have so much extra time back in my schedule, which I put to use on a few drawings...

This week's batch of drawings kicks off a new series of EVA-Trek costume reference sketches of the ~30 main and recurring characters. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while, and now that I've finally completed the last revisions to the finale, I've got the time for it.

This week's batch of sketches continues and completes my series of the 36 main, supporting, and recurring EVA-Trek characters. Annoyingly, I realized after finish the supposedly last sketch that I'd forgotten a few more... Shinji's grandparents, Luther Sloan, Captain Ed Mercer, Liam Shaw, Mr. Suzuhara, Mr. Aida, and the DS9 characters I'd featured in the crossover episode. I swear to the Great Bird that I'm not going back to draw the rest. I still have to do the final illustrations for the finale episode.

I'm incredibly glad I had a bunch of drawings banked up that hadn't been posted yet, because this entire weekend I have been creatively exhausted. Finishing up EVA-Trek's finale proved to be more taxing than I had anticipated, so I'm taking a bit of a break from writing and drawing to recover. It's the first real break I've taken in the last 3 years, 511 drawings, and 26 one-hour scripts, and goddamn do I need it!

I simplified the details in many places, but overall tried to match the vibe.
~ Do I spy a couple of Cali-class ships?
Not just any Cali-class - one is indeed the USS Cerritos! The other ship that is shown stabilizing the damaged Nerv in the act nine storyboard is the USS Burbank.
After a nice two week break from drawing, I'm back at it once more! This week features a little sneak peek at EVA-Trek season 2... which won't resume its writers room for at least another few weeks.
