Since no one has caught it yet - check out Itsuki's uniform insignia against her uniform color.
Also doing a bit of spot-checking throughout the thread to make sure the board upgrade didn't mess anything up - looks like everything's all good!
And a fun little side note - I started writing the season 2 premiere of EVA-Trek today. Already have the teaser outlined, which takes some inspiration from the beginning of Star Trek Into Darkness and Discovery's season 4 premiere. Those are always the most fun to come up with.

We had red shirts with the both the tennis ball and Fibonacci curve in TOS so having the Fibonacci curve on yellow seems possible to me.
Oh, gods, that's ruined it for me. Those beautiful glassy eyes and that amazing hair (complete with little SF deltas) are all RUINED, I tell you!
Just kidding, of course. I agree with @Sgt_G and @BK613 that the uniform colour and insignia combination are easily explained: A chief engineer who is also on the command track (first or second officer, maybe?). Or a command officer with an engineering speciality? After all,in the TOS movies, Captain Scott did wear engineering gold along with command whites
Drawing 544 / 2024 Artwork 77: Yui Yuigahama from Oregairu. Did a rewatch of the show this weekend as part of some preliminary research for EVA-Trek season 2. No spoilers as to how it'll factor in.
Drawing 545 / 2024 Artwork 78: Mona Kawai from Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms tries out the "monster maroon" uniform from the TOS movies.
2024 Composition 1: The brand-new version of the EVA-Trek main titles sequence for season 2! I essentially rebuilt the entire arrangement, fixed the "ethereal" opening, and doubled the size of the orchestra from the season 1 edition. It finally has that Trek-ness to the song I've been looking for since originally writing it last year. The visuals come from multiple sources on YouTube which I felt lent a sense of grandeur to the sequence, and are duly noted. (Do you know how hard it is to find nice renders of the Enterprise-D that don't have the ship's registry right up in front?) Ideally, I'd like to have a totally original sequence that also shows off the Evas, but that's beyond my skill-set.
And now, off to bed to rest up from this wonderful little cold I caught over the weekend.

Hoo boy, so it's been a week for me. You know that "wonderful little cold" I thought I got last Sunday? Turned out that I'd managed to run out of luck after the last four years and came down with Covid for the first time. It was decidedly not a fun time in the least. It's only been in the last couple days that I'm starting to feel like me again. Felt good to get out for some meaningful exercise this morning in addition to get some more writing done on EVA-Trek's season 2 premiere episode.

Drawing 547 / 2024 Artwork 80: Homer Simpson encounters Number Six in The Simpsons' "The Computer Wore Menace Shoes." Finally got Imprint's lovely new boxset of the classic British series The Prisoner this week. (The irony was not lost on me binging that series while I was on lockdown from Covid). I've ended up falling in love with Patrick McGoohan's masterwork. It even inspired me to break the story for a third season EVA-Trek episode I've been trying to crack for a while.

Drawing 550 / 2024 Artwork 83: EVA-Trek season 2 preview. A tense moment between Captain Misato Katsuragi and her First Officer, Dr. Ritsuko Akagi.
It's also a first-look at USS Nerv's redesigned Ready Room after it was wrecked in the season 1 finale, "The Last Song." I grabbed a little inspiration from the Enterprise-E's version of the set to push the design language of the ship further into the 2370's. As always, getting those little details into the background of the shot were the most fun part.

I'm still surprised I was able to get enough fine detail into Misato's SFA diploma to be able to show the Golden Gate Bridge.
Had one helluva productive week at Studio Firebird! Managed to get not only the first EVA-Trek season 2 script outline finished, but also broke the stories for episodes 2 and 3! Between all that writing, I somehow found the motivation for three illustrations...

Drawing 552 / 2024 Artwork 85: Kasumi Tendo, the eldest daughter of the Tendo Dojo in Ranma 1/2.
Drawing 553 / 2024 Artwork 86: Captain Yurika Misumaru, Captain of the Akira-class USS Nadesico in EVA-Trek. Originally from Martian Successor Nadesico, Yurika's ship was mentioned in passing by Odo in EVA-Trek's crossover episode with Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I'm planning on her popping up in season 2, so I wanted to do at least one illustration of her beforehand.
Y'know, that Dominion War uniform is growing on me the more I draw it... can't imagine why.
