Finished season one

A generally better-known example of the dregs metaphor in song, also from the 60s:

Oops, that does look like I was responding directly to the post above mine.

I don't actually enjoy dregs. :(
Sinatra, yes. Dregs, no.

I have finished season 3 and seeing as I have already watched the movies, I'm done with TOS, well except for The Cage but I'll get around to it eventually. The final season had some, shall we say interesting episodes: boxes of seizure-inducing light, space hippies, creepy kids... I will never get the image of Alexander riding Kirk like a donkey out of my head. Ever.

But there were a few that I really enjoyed.

The Enterprise Incident
Day Of The Dove
The Tholian Web
All Our Yesterdays (favourite, Spock's COTEOF)

Again, I'm glad I gave TOS a second chance:) Two down, three to go!

Oh I also watched Trials And Tribblations because it was on one of the S2 discs. I think I'll enjoy DS9. Dax's comment about Spock and Sisko's look of what-the-hell was so funny!

Yes I'm a sucker for a tragic love story! I also liked it because it was one of the few episodes which features Spock and McCoy together, without Kirk. I agree. Zarabeth was gorgeous.

The "Smithers" thing is a reference to The Simpsons.

Oh. I couldn't tell if heh meant laughing or confusion:) I found this video a few days ago and I have been dying to post it in hopes that someone on here loves the episode as much as I do.

I would suggest looking for the TOS novels "Yesterday's Son" and "Time For Yesterday." They are sequels to the episode "All Our Yesterdays."

As for the box of seizure-inducing light, that may be my favorite 3rd season ep. It really evokes one of the primary philosophies of the sixties, and even thought the IDIC thing was blatantly commercial, it really is an important statement. Ugly box of light, beautiful blind woman, logical Vulcan - we all deserve the same respect, and our differences are what makes life interesting.

Also the music in that episode was just amazingly beautiful. And thank God somebody brought the fisheye lens to work.
