Finding that "Feel Good" movie.

too fat to fish
Fleet Captain
I have to admit, I'm not doing too well right now. I'm always on the verge of crying most of the time. I'm unemployed, I live with my parents with huge bills floating over my head, and my girlfriend dumped me. I need something that'll cheer me up. A good movie perhaps? Something like Big Fish or Field of Dreams.

I just watched Groundhog Day this afternoon for the 100th time probably. Made me laugh and lot and cheered me up anyway.

Also if I want cheering up I'll flick on an episode of Quantum Leap that are on every day on the UK Sci-Fi channel. Nothing like a bit of Sam-Beckett-always-doing-the-right-thing to make me feel good

A rather mixed kind of list here, but these films always manage to put me in good spirits:

Notting Hill
Stardust
Anything from Pixar
What's Up, Doc?

I agree with the Pixar comment. However, what I think you need is a taste of The Dude!

Try "The Station Agent."

Excellent choice. I love that film.

"Rudy" is another one that makes me so happy, I get all misty-eyed. And I don't even like sports.

"Trains, Planes and Automobiles," is a good November movie; it always makes me laugh.

Also, "About a Boy," "Love, Actually," "The Mighty" and "Singing in the Rain."

Are you a sucker for sports underdog movies that all have the same plot?

Remember the Titans, Glory Road, Miracle, Invincible, Rudy...

Schindler's List

You know you don't have it as bad as those people...

Heart and Souls - I watched it twice in a row, and the second time, I started crying at the beginning!

It's A Wonderful Life - the classic film to cheer you up!
