Finch (Tom Hanks Apple TV movie)

Anyone watching that Tom Hanks Apple TV movie "Finch"?

"On a post-apocalyptic earth, a robot, built to protect the life of his creator's beloved dog, learns about life, love, friendship and what it means to be human."

I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds like live action Wall-E with Tom Hanks. Yes please!

So some bloke named Finch creates an artificial life form and teaches it the meaning of life. Also, there's a dog.

That sounds oddly familiar.

I don't think too many people here have Apple TV? There isn't a See thread either, and the For All Mankind thread is dead...

This is Earth after a Carrington Event on steroids movie, I presume? I've also got to find time to watch it. Too many distractions at the moment. There was a Larry Niven short story I read decades ago called Inconstant Moon about a superflare but I doubt this film is based on that.

Mrs. Q2 & I watched it the other night. Decent movie, Hanks was enjoyable as ever. We enjoyed it. I'd say B+

I just canceled my subscription to Apple TV+, but this will be on the top of my list once it comes back around in my streaming rotation.

Anyone else watch it? We have Apple +, and Christmas break just started...so we wanted to see if it would be worth watching, with a 10 and 16 year old girls
