That's weird, earlier today only seasons 2 and 3 were available.

I've already got Star Trek on DVD. But only the classic version. Before today I'd only seen a few episodes of Remastered. Man, did I miss out or what? Beautiful work! Finally the VFX are as epic as the storytelling! I do love the classic FX, but mostly for sentimental reason. They're wonderful in that oatmeal kind of comfort food way. But the visuals on Remastered are stunning. The Doomsday Machine was epic! Where No Man Has Gone Before was just beautiful. The amazing vistas and all. I nearly shat myself! I can't wait to watch them all.

With the new VFX it's literally a brand new show! I love rediscovering the classics!

This is very strange. Using my Apple TV, I get "The Tholian Web" in 4x3 exclusively. When using my Boxee Box, the effects shots are shown at 1.78:1. Here are two photos I've taken (not the best quality). The top is from the paused Netflix stream playing on the Boxee and the second is from my Blu-ray. You can clearly see that there is extra (superfluous) picture information on the left and right of the Netflix version.

Keep in mind these aren't frame accurate, but you can clearly see more of the nacelle on the Netflix image.

I watched "By Any Other Name" tonight just to see what the Netflix streaming was like (I have the DVDs) and it was absolutely gorgious. They did a great job with the remastering and the Enterprise itself really shined here. Also loved the stuff with the Barrier and actually being able to see the Enterprise turn. I used to be one of those people who said leave things alone since they were supposed to represent the time in which they were created, and in a way I still believe that. Still, to enhance (Not deter) this episode in that way is some very nice work and really made me enjoy the episode a little more.

Indeed they are...I am expecting more stalwarts to see the new FX as time goes on and prefer them.

So this is the chance to see the FX at the original aspect ratio...answering the question originally asked here:

Netflix RAWKS!!! I watch it both on the Wii and on the computer, and I love it! How is it that Charter and Comcast are still in business?

I've got The Original Series on DVD, but now I can watch any of the other series without having to hunt them down. Netflix is awesome!
