Finally some Tocal Recall footage

I don't think the existing Blu-ray is too bad. You can certainly see the flaws in the scenery, props, actors' make-up, and sfx work that were visible on the cinema screen in 1990. A new transfer won't help fix those. I won't be bothering to upgrade anyhow.

I like the trailer but am dissapointed the Mars element isn't in the movie. I am looking forward to this though.

I got five kids to feed!

Give these people eyre!

Start the reactor, free Mars!

Howdy stranger, this is Hauser!

What the FUCK did I do wrong?!

Baby, you make me wish I had three hands!

... just some of the reasons why there's no way I'm gonna be able to take this film seriously. Love the original, as all my friends, and I think we're planning on going to see, knowing it will be shite, and just quoting from the '90 version all the way through it.

"Sue me, dickhead"
You forgot the best scene in the entire movie:

Trailer looks like "original Total Recall movie set in the Blade Runner universe" or something.

So basically a big-budget version of that short-lived Total Recall 2070 show from the late 90s. :P

I'll say one thing about that trailer...Colin Farrell has the best "moment of realization" expressions. He does it really well, and they're hard to do convincingly.

He has one in this trailer, and another time he's done it was in Minority Report, when he's in the elevator with Tom Cruise, they joke about Cruise having a report against him, and then Farrell hears the alarms go...the look on his face in that moment of realization is damn brilliant.

I like the way they filmed that action sequence where he instictively kills all the troops.

I think it looks pretty cool, but they showed way too much in that trailer. Particularly the scene where Quaid takes out the soldiers. That should have just been implied with shorter, faster cuts.

Those elements were already there, even when the film looked good during its first run. The transfers on Blu-Ray (and DVD) have been consistently horrible, though, which is a shame, because it's been packaged with half-decent extras.

I haven't seen the Blu-ray, but I agree the DVD transfers aren't all that great.

With so many action films using short and fast cuts nowadays (not saying that it's always a bad thing), I actually liked the long camera shot here.

Well, I just meant for in the trailer. We shouldn't be seeing the entire scene in a damn trailer.

Trailer looks pretty good, but unfortunately the whole "live your fantasy," virtual reality thing seems a lot less cool and novel than it did back in 1990.

There have been so many movies and TV shows since then with people questioning their reality that it's going to be really hard to make the idea seem fresh again.
