Filming Locations!!!

Well, I may not have been in show business for as long as you have. But I'm a quick learner. And right now, I'm going to give the audience what I think they want.

Ah "The Running Man" a bit of 80's Cheese, but reasonable cheese.

I love hunting film locations and don't often get the chance to show them off!

The location for the base in Torchwood at Cardiff Bay

back when I used to travel to Los Angeles more regularly I visited a fair number of places, my favorite being the bat cave from the Adam west TV series.

When I attended Cornell back in the 1980s they filmed the exterior winter scenes for "the sure thing" there.

I was the overnight security officer for the Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin when they filmed the Billy Bob Thornton / Dennis Quaid version of The Alamo there. The previous year, it was used for a few scenes for Miss Congeniality.

I saw some of Spy Kids 3 bein' filmed on Congress Avenue in front of the Paramount in Austin one mornin', too.

I was an extra for an episode of NBC's Friday Night Lights when they filmed an "game" at the Longhorns' football stadium.

And that's all I can think of at the moment...

Sherlock is being filmed in Bath on a week Monday around the corner from where I am studying, so I might pop along to see it.

Plus I'm not far from Lacock and a few things, including three of the Potter films were filmed at the abbey there.

That's a great hotel. A few years ago I was visiting Austin and, while I didn't stay there, we had drinks in the bar. Ended up talking to a couple of screenwriters (don't recall their names or what they were working on). Always wanted to go back and visit it again.

I was just in NYC and walked past the NY Public Library, where they filmed the beginning of Ghostbusters. I was there in April and it looks the same.

I walked past the Solow Building, where Superman catches the burglar outside the window in Superman: The Movie. In fact, the Solow Building is basically across the street from the library.

Riddle me this, BBS-ers! From where in San Francisco's Treasure Island can you go on a Last Crusade to Germany?
