Fill a role with a TOS era actor

Howard McNear as the barber in "spector of the gun"
The actor who played the barber actually had five roles in the original series. And it would have blown everybody's mind to see Floyd the Barber as the barber.
"Eh, eh, eh, those aren't mine you'll have to ask him... yeah."

I know that there is no such thing as a perfect human being.
I know that if you cancel the good things done by beings who are not perfect
There will be nothing that will not be cancelled.

There's not perfect then there's implying he's on par with some one who drugged and raped people...

I have a good deal of distaste for discussing celebrity's sex lives. It invariably gets into decades old "He said- She said" but, given Old Casting-Couch-Roddenberry's reputation, I found the accusations that he forced himself on Grace Lee Whitney quite credible.

Her refusal to join his harem of other TOS actresses, has been offered as an explanation as to why Yeoman Rand was suddenly dropped from the show.

Yet, we can still enjoy "Star Trek" and "I, Spy" without getting flustered about what went on behind the scenes. I suggest you do as well.

There's an old saying that's fallen out of fashion today. "Nobody's Perfect."
I don't know if people understand that any more.

Interesting question, and also hard, because I like pretty much all of the casting they did.

Let's try this:

Nurse Chapel - Marj Dusay (who would then be unavailable for "Spock's Brain")

Commodore Wesley (I'd rather we replace Russo in his original role instead, but this was his 2nd) - Rock Hudson, but probably can't get him, so, Jack Lord... or maybe this is where we could put Robert Duvall

Capt. Tracey - Keenan Wynn

Mr. Atoz - Ray Walston (of "My Favorite Martian", later known as "Mr. Hand")

Tepo - Peter Falk, or Jack Klugman, or Eli Wallach

Sarek - Walter Matthau

Stonn - Dustin Hoffman, or if we can't get him, Robert Loggia

Rahda - Stephanie Powers

Dr. Sevrin - Patrick McGoohan

Yul Brynner didn't really do TV in TOS era, but I could see him as Sarek.

Yes, or Dr. Sevrin.
