Emissary had its fifteenth anniversary on January 3rd and tomorrow it is the 15th anniversary of the first broadcast of Past Prologue, but more importantly, the first appearance of Garak! :thumbsup:

Wow...seems like only yesterday...
It really does. I'm having a big urge to watch Emissary this week and probably will maybe this weekend. It's been so long since I've seen DS9 on a regular basis.
Fifteen years, just think there are Star Trek fans that never watched a DS9 show that has never been seen by the general public before. They became fans with reruns and watching the episodes on DVD’s. In a few more years we will witness the funerals of the regular cast members.

But did DS9 come out in the Autumn of 1993, so it is still 14 years old? Still old enough to be nearly a very young adult though, and it is absolutely terrifying that 1999 is nearly a decade ago as well...

Filming began in late '92 and the series premiered on January 3rd 1993.
Wow. That seems like an eternity ago for some reason. It'll probably all look ridiculously dated in the next 15 years.
I just watched all 7 seasons... I cant believe its been in existance that long, let along GONE that long!
amazing how well the early episodes hold up even today. It hasn't dated as badly as 1st season TNG. It's amazing that it's been that long. Are there any plans to do anything special like a DS9 themed convention or something. I've never been to a convention before but if they organize one to commemorate DS9, I'd definitely would try to go. It wopuld be interesting to catch up with the cast and writers to see what everyone is up to.
I just watched Past Prologue today and also happened to watch Emissary on the 3rd. The episodes hold up very well and feel like they could have been made in the last year or two. I think that TNG's first season became dated because it was filmed using 80s specific sets. IMO DS9, while using a darker set than TNG, is not tied to a decade. Any technological datedness in the future can easily be explained away by Cardaisian technology having some shortcomings.
