Fifteen years!

13 yrs 1 month between the premiere of Star Trek: The Motion Picture and the premiere of DS9. 15 years between the premiere of DS9 and the present day. That means that the DS9 premiere is closer in time to the premiere of TMP than it is to the present day. Also, the 15 years that it's been since DS9 premiered is about the same as the length of time between the release of TMP and the release of Generations.

Plus, this fall, we'll be at the 21 year mark since the premiere of TNG. 21 years is also how long it took from the premiere of TOS to the premiere of TNG. This stuff scares me.

That might be because you're reading a lot into it. ;)

The time line of dates do not prove anything. If I said we need a DS9 movie in 2013 because it would be 20 years everyone would think I am nuts. If there is a market and the studio wants to go with it fine. Just never blend in dates as that is not a factor.

Wow. It's like 2 months younger than me. And it still looks really good (a little like me :D) TV, I agree with the person who said that it looks lots better than TNG S1.

Think it is holding its own better than TNG, as that is very dated. Even will say it is holding its own better than Voyager. Still, it does not have the viewer market like TNG and Voyager.

Wow, I definitely feel old. But I think DS9's reputation will only continue to flourish as the years pass. TNG is proving to be a very mixed bag, with some great stuff amidst great mediocrity and frequent crap. Much of it is already dreadfully dated, at least from a technical standpoint. VOY and ENT will be nothing but footnotes to future generations.

High Schools on Bajor are full of little shits who barely remember pre-war Bajor and don't even appericate what their parents went through during the Cardassian Occupation as the UFP flag flutters outside their schools.
