Feline Follies

Oh no! Giant stoned cats! That must have been an awesome sight! Was their hyperactivity more like giant kittens at play or more like "hunt invisible prey"?

I'm happy to hear Banshee is making progress B.J.!

Well, there aren't any mountain lions featured in this clip, but the other big cats seem to be leaning more toward "giant kittens at play".

That was awesome! Yes, they were leaning towards giant (mellow!) kittens at play...but it looks like the black panther would have had the cameraman for lunch were it not for the fence!

Thanks for the link!

To think just under two short years ago this little ball of fun moved in.

Heh. My Sneezy likes to do that too. Of course, Phantom thinks the sink is his own personal bed! :wtf: I need to take a picture of that sometime....

I know what you mean. Sometimes when I walk into a darkened bathroom I hear a meow and find a kitty in the sink when I turn on the light.

This is Lara, my cat, the old lady.

This is Tulla, her daughter.

These are some cats I sometimes babysit Ginny in front and Ro in the background.

And then here's Ro.

My Dad used to call cats like Tulla "peanut butter cats" because it looked like they had their head stuck in a peanut butter jar.

My Dad was an amazing man. He never finished high school, but could fix anything.

Once we had a little grey cat that was playing with another sitting in the seat of a wooden chair. He was sticking his paw up between slats to one side, by the frame if you will--and got it stuck.

It became frightened and started doing flips--and broke its forelimb.

My Dad didn't take it to the vet. Once, I had gotten my pinky caught in a door near the hinges, and required a splint. He saved that splint for years, and used that, two popsickle sticks and white medical tape to fashion a cast of sorts.

That little cat let him set that leg. I couldn't believe it at the time, but he did it.

The cat got full use of that limb.

The saddest thing was that, a year or two later, it got sick. Well my Dad couldn't do anything about that, so he took Tom to the vet. Before he could even the door open, a kid who looked "a bit slow" walked up to the window and spooked him. That cat clawed my Dad, jumped out of the car, and was never seen again.

No camera, so no pix, but late Thursday night (around midnight) a friend came by for a few minutes and I had the door open. I went over to the friend's apartment in the complex (yes, I closed the door).

When I got back home, my cat was near the computer, looking at another cat in the room! It appeared to be a 2 or 3 month kitten, who was huddled against a stuffed toy that I sometimes sprinkle catnip on.

What surprised me was they were just staring, trying to figure each other out. My Cleo wasn't growling or bristling or anything. But to be safe, I put her in the bathroom and then carried the kitten out.

Cleo spent the next hour near that spot, probably checking the scent. She didn't seem to relax about it until a few hours later when she might have forgotten about it.
