Feline Follies

My husband and I went for a walk today. A short bit outside our door we were greeted by the cat that hangs out by our patio. We said hello to him and kept walking. So did he. He kept following us like a dog would, kind of charging ahead a little bit and then turning around to look at us. He breaks my heart! I would take him to the vet to see if he belongs to someone, but what if he doesn't? There are so many cats here that I think he would just be euthanized at a shelter somewhere. :(

I guess for right now we'll continue to have an outdoor kitty who goes on walks with us!

Oh, it makes me want to cry just imagining it! Poor little kitteh needs a human and a forever home. :(

awww... no collar or anything?

there are plenty of lists online of shelters that euthanise, so you know which ones to avoid if it comes down to it... but if the furball is happy being an outside cat, just leave him / her to it... offer some food or something next time you walk past and you'll have a friend for life lol

If the furball is in good health with a happy shiny coat, more than likely he / she does have an owner... cough, sorry, slave... and the furball is just out wandering :)

No collar. He either belongs to someone now or did at some point because he's very friendly. He is sitting outside our window right now looking at me with big eyes. There are a few shelters that don't euthanize but they're all full. I dunno, he might belong to someone but I'm scared to have him scanned and find out that he doesn't have owners.

if he's friendly and approachable then he more than likely has an owner / slave lol

most cats in the wild or feral cats typically shy away from humans, if you're feeling bad, take him in for a day or so and take a photo to circulate around... if he's owned i'm sure the owner will thank you for looking after him, if not then you're giving him a few days warmth and food :)

I know he's not feral, but my concern is that he was abandoned by owners who left the complex and moved out without him. Circulating the picture wouldn't really work because I live in a community interconnected with six others, for a total of somewhere around four thousand residents.

I don't want to let him in because we already have a cat, but I've been thinking about taking him to a vet and having him scanned.

Each evening my cat Spider sits on my bed wanting to play his games on my iPad. One of his favourite games is Paint for Cats. This is one of the pictures he painted using this app (a little mouse runs around the screen encouraging the cat to create a masterpiece).

He also likes Cat Fishing and looking at videos of spiders on YouTube.

Wow, that's amazing, Miss Chicken! Thanks for sharing! Your cat is quite the talented painter. I've just shown his masterpiece to the girls in my office, and we are all very impressed. :techman:

Don't ever move to Romania then. I can't tell you how many stray kitties I fed while I lived in Bucharest.

Yes, the dogs are even sadder because they are so much more visible. I do miss walking through Herastrau Park and seeing all the puppies in the spring though.
