reminds me of a comic I've seen, perhaps posted in this thread as well, where the cutesy cat is saying all kinds of disturbing things, but all the owner hears is lovely cute mewing....

My cat becomes scared when the washing machine is unbalanced and makes banging noises. Shuts down and hides, won't make a sound. The banging only lasted a couple seconds this time, but he's still silent and staying still. Found him hiding under the chair and pulled him out without a fight. Now he's hiding under the desk.
