When it’s dried and on carpet I find scraping it with the blunt(er) side of a butter/table knife helps pull a lot of the stuff up and helps vacuuming.

Pet stain and odor remover spray is surprisingly productive. Of course, I suspect the bottom side of the carpet looks terrible.

Got carpet left in one room for that reason.
