Yeah, the person that hand belongs to is as good as dead.

I like cats for their "independent" character. Unlike the dogs cats care about their territory and don't care too much about their owners.... I mean the dog will follow you in trip, anywhere you may go, but a cat likes its own warm place from home...
Though I've heard a cat can sense the owner's pain, sit on that area and suddenly the pain is gone...
Some say : where there are cats, there's balance and harmony in that house...
I like them for their stubbornness :)

Can't say I've seen a cat with different coloured eyes before though a quick google search tells me it's not uncommon and is generally found in white cats (like the little kitty above) or cats with a white in their coats such as tuxedo cats (though ours didn't).

Independence is relative. My large black feline is between me and the keyboard right now. He also sleeps with us, follows us around, and *loves* attention. Maybe he was a dog in a previous life...:rommie:

I had a crossbreed dog once...... between a LAbrador and a Husky..... great combination, I think they're called Labsky dogs, never had a cat.
A friend of mine who had a black cat asked me once to "babysit" his cat till they return from vacation.... only to feed him (guess it was a tomcat) and visit his place every now and then and stay with his cat like 30 minutes or 1 hour when I'm there....
While I was "babysitting" and staying there for about 1 hour I was watching something on his computer and his cat kept jumping in front of the screen and I couldn't see anything ....
So I kept taking him down(several times) from the computer table and putting him on the floor and I was continuing to watch what I was watching.....
Of course he didn't like what I was doing and started to scratch (intentionally) the sofa's surface leaving marks...
Once he bit me because I was trying to touch him..... he didn't like to be touched either ... only if it came to you and rub itself to your legs ....
So they have this "personality" thing.....
It's pretty difficult to make a cat listen to you.
It will eventually, but only if its hungry....
I guess it is the only way you can "blackmail" a cat

I put the lid back on the litter box to see what would happen. Today I heard the cat digging into the litter so I took a peek and.... he had pooped on the lid, then made his way inside the litter box. So he's definitely doing it just because he has an attitude.

Hello Cat People (fanciers) My cat and I are having a really hard summer. I am really starting to feel like the worst pet parent ever! I know I can't control these things. But my cat needs a break from things happening to her! First she hurt her left front paw and lost two claws. The vet now thinks one will not grow back because of pad damage! :(. The other claw is coming back slowly. Then she had to go in for a tooth cleaning and had to have a tooth pulled. It was really awful because she had a shot for pain that lasted several days. But only two days before our trip we were taking. Didn't want to leave her but had to. We had a family friend come and take care of her. And she did a good job. But it was hard to be away from her. Add two heat waves into all of this the one a few weeks ago never got below 100 and starting tomorrow another one is going to hit us for 3 days! This is crazy for our area. We don't get this! Not since 2009! We don't have AC so it is back to soaking towels in water and freezing them again. It is hard on her though she is 13. I am trying not to complain, I am just feeling very upset about all the things my cat is having to deal with. Never had to deal with a tooth being pulled or losing claws, hope to never again, she was really miserable for a few days. Though, she was more herself when we got back. Which was good. Anyone else have a lot of things keep happening to their cat like in such a short period of time? I just don't want anything else to happen to her. You know. It is not easy being a pet parent sometimes! Thanks for listening, really glad there is a cat chat on here, really need it! Thanks.
