Feline Follies

Our 13 year old female cat injured her left front paw. Well, she ripped out two of her claws. I was very upset and worried about it. I tried to put a gauze bandage on it, she flipped it off in two seconds, I went by a video I saw on the computer. She didn't get it infected but got a shot of antibiotic so she does not get it infected when she uses her pad or littler box. They told me her claws would grow back. One was not all the way gone and is short but there. The other is still gone. It has been over 3 weeks now and I wonder if any of you had this happen with a cat and how long it takes for the claw to grow back? Or even start to grow back? She is indoor only. Also do any of you have or know what is needed for a cat first aid kit. I am a bad cat mom and don't have one. Now that I found I needed it, I want to put one together...I have never had a cat injured before so this is upsetting to me! She used to lick her paw a lot so I know it hurt but she didn't limp. She seems okay just one super short claw and one still gone.

Luckily that hasn't happened to any of my cats. I hope it grows back.

Being cute all day requires lots of rest.

Turns out my cat didn't like me rotating the lid on the top-entry litter box. Sure, it solved the poop problem, but to spite me he peed outside the box for the first time ever. So I just took the lid off, which is not good for odor control. He seems to find that acceptable if not preferable.

Might consider getting a front-entry box now.

Had a bunny rip out a couple of toe claws when attempting to give her some medicine. They grew back without any issues.
