Feline Follies

So the 22 year old cat we looked after for a friend passed away today.

Molly was one of the loveliest cats we've looked after.

Her human is in bits. Bless him.

Hugo - RIP little one

My sympathies. I'll never stop saying this: they're far more than just pets. They are family members.

"I demand your undivided attention, human. NOW!"
I know that look. What gets me is our cat has designated different duties to her slaves. Glenn is required to basically pat her and she adores him. She purrs for him. I get to feed her, clean her litter box, get whacked in the face to get up in the morning, feed her, sit with her when she is outside, feed her, endure her cat voodoo stares (as above) and feed her. She barely musters a sigh. The other night she sat on me, it's getting colder. I was scared to move it was such an honour and she just got up and walked away like I had offended her.

This is what Junior's face looked like last Saturday. A storm came through and we lost power for about 10-12 hours---when it was 94 F outside. He clearly is not a cat who can handle life without air conditioning. Hubby couldn't stop laughing at him, so I had to get a picture.

Looks too hot n bothered for even a half-hearted swipe at the camera.

Poor Junior.

So it can get to warm for a cat. Interesting.

Btw, just to make it clear to explain what happened with my photo, Cat actually climbed from my lap onto the desk to sit down in front of the screen to stare at me like that. And not for the first time. Apparently, I'm not allowed to watch YouTube while petting him.

My cat frequently gets trolled by one or more squirrels on the patio. This one gets upset about the lack of peanuts and climbs the screen.

We don’t have a cat anymore, but there is one in the street I wish I could get a picture of. It’s all white, but for black sock feet, and a small black patch beneath its nose.

It is a Hitler cat, and every time we pass it, it stares back at us, as if to say, “why does everyone slow down and stare at me?”
