Feline Follies

Pepsi prefers the warmth of his radiator bed above all other comfy spots

Our (local) family has never had a cat as part of the household (though the one next door was often around), but my father is like the cat whisperer. He keeps insisting he's not a cat person, but we've never come across one that doesn't seem to adore him.
The cat from next door couldn't stay away from him, but our cousins persian was the funniest. He used to sit on my dads lap staring at him while stroking his beard for hours on end:D

Here's my buddy, Ozzy. I call him my buddy because he almost always wants to be near me, usually in my lap or on me in some way.
When we adopted him (and one other cat) a few years ago, he hid for a few weeks. We never saw him unless he needed to use the litter box or eat. One night when I went to bed, he hopped onto the bed and wanted me to pet him. It shocked the hell out of me because like I said, he shunned everyone in the family. I later learned that this type of cat (Bombay) usually picks one person in the household on which to attach and he picked me. He must have spent all that time evaluating everyone in the house. lol

^ such a beautiful cat!

Now that's a cat. Maine Coon or at least part?
Yes, he's a Maine Coon. I got him from a couple who rescued a feral Maine Coon. That cat had kittens, so when the kittens were about 10 months, they gave them away. So he's at least half Maine Coon.

By the way, Ozzy drools. Yes, drools. He only does it when I'm petting him. Does anyone else have a cat that drools? Seems odd. I've had cats all my life and never had one that drooled.

I've encountered two or three drooling cats.

I also encountered a cat that appears to have all thumbs, so to speak, which were big paws and an extra digit on each. Poor thing had a habit of going into people's yards and even in one person's house through a doggy door. It disappeared one day. Found out later he entered a yard with a dog, got chased and ran under the house; too afraid and stuck with the dog, it stayed there until it starved to death.

Junior occasionally will drool when he's being petted, or sometimes in his sleep. One of my childhood cats did that as well.
