Junior is adorable, but does he ever get tempted to pounce at shiny objects on the tree?
He used to; I learned to have only plastic, non-breakable ornaments on the bottom layers of the tree. He doesn't seem too interested in them this year. He does, however, sit under the tree and will occasionally chew on the branches. I have no idea why. It's a fake tree. He's chewing on polyester.
We don't dare put the tree up for fear of what these three hooligans would do to it. We had the tree up last year when we brought them home. At first, they were too skittish to bother with it, other than to hide under it. But after about a week, they discovered they could climb it, forcing us to take it down. Pretty sure that's what would happen if we try to put it up this year.
As to the stay cat ... haven't seen any sign of him lately.

Speaking of Christmas trees and cats, seems one way to keep the tree free from moggy menace is to put aluminum foil underneath because cats don't like walking on it.

But ... but ... that's the whole point -- putting a tree up so the cat can play in it. 'cause it's fun to watch and film and put online.
Too bad they only allow identification via facebook, as I deleted my account a few years back (funny enough, because of personal data concerns). Sorry I can't vote for Junior.
As to give a bit of my own contribution to this thread, while I don't "own" a cat and haven't for many years. Actually, my landlord doesn't allow pets. Interestingly enough, he has a cat, but doesn't allow it into his house. So, during the colder months, his cat (whose name I don't even know, so I just call him Cat in best Holly Golightly tradition) he spends a lot of time in my appartment.
