Feline Follies

Millie herself is the scariest animal around these parts and that includes the Staffordshire bull terrier down the road. There's nothing remotely dangerous in my bit of the UK and our cats prefer the outdoors to the house. A chip-activated cat flap was a no brainer. Converting a small dog kennel into a cat summer-house?? Probably a little indulgent ;)

The reason we named one of my cats Jim was so that when he acted up we could say, "Dammit, Jim!"

He's the one pictured earlier in this thread.

I discovered yesterday that Glasgow likes belly rubs! Poor little dude is sick though; they warned me at the shelter that it's really common for shelter cats to come down with upper respiratory infections and to keep an eye out for it. Indeed, he started sneezing and became lethargic so we went to the vet and now he's on an antibiotic.

I put signs on both sides of the apartment door that say "Mind the cat," as no one is used to having a cat in the home. My roommate said they made him think of the "Mind the gap" warnings on the underground, and lo and behold, THEY MAKE A DOORMAT! So of course I bought it.

None of mine like their tummies rubbed.

They ALL love what I call Butt Pats. Patting them just above their tails.

I LOVE that mat!

One of ours likes his belly rubbed but then again he is a big softie (unless of course you are prey because he is quite the prodigious hunter), the other one not as much.

So, with Mrs Rune's mobility issues and my bad back, we have taken to going for an early evening stroll when the weather is nice (her for stamina, me to keep the muscles moving) and recently the cats have started to join us... around the block a few times on tow. Amused the he'll out of me:

Don't worry, it's so quiet around here that over 25 minutes not a car came around. Cat safety is paramount to the Runes!

Here's Willow in her second favorite bed (as you can tell, our cats would much rather have the boxes that the store bought beds come in than the furry beds, themselves):

Next to this and her Action Figure box, her third favorite place to be is on the bed on my arm.

The oldest of my pride, Kaylee:

I swear that if you put Kaylee next to Grumpy Cat that they'd have nearly the exact same build. Different markings, yes, but physically they're very similar.

Here she is looking for a bug that flew in when I was taking out the trash:

She loves sky raisins. She can catch flies in flight with her two paws. She absolutely LOVES moths, but not if they're damaged in the act of catching them.

She loves sky raisins.
1. Why does your trash look like hundreds of Alien Xenomorph toys?
2. Your cats are adorable.
3. I have stolen "sky raisins." I will be folding it into my daily vocab with the intent of spreading it far and wide to subsequently take lashings of praise over how fun the term is. I will not be paying royalties. Sorry. And thank you

Hugo - probably doesn't realise the term is already huge and awaits an embarrassing fall

OMG, I'm dyin' here.

Anyway, to answer your questions:

1. That's the top of my desk. I'm disorganized. I also like toys. I'm into Xenomorphs, but I'd rather have the queen than 100 warriors. Trash was earlier and in another part of my house.
2. Thank you. They will appreciate that you think so. But really, thank you, and yes, they are. :)
3. I 'bout fell out my chair and literally ROTF. But I have to disappoint you: I used to call them "snacks" until I saw a cat meme on Facebook that referred to them as Sky Raisins. I can't take credit.

Not ours. Emma is indifferent to them.

Truthfully, Kaylee and Willow are the box trolls. Jim is more interested in laps and rarely jumps in boxes unless there's a chance to play with Kaylee.

On other fronts:

Um...yup.
