Feline Follies

I posted these in TNZ a while back, but I thought I'd give you guys a look at my goegeous kitty. She's called Daisy, she is 3 years old, and a true lapcat. If I stop moving for more than 10 seconds she sits on me, and she sleeps on me all night long.

I made this giant scratching pole for her out of an 8ft fence post, sistral rope and a Christmas Tree stand. She adores it.

As far as my 13 year old male. He had cystitis and/or crystalized urine several years ago. He never drinks enough water, so I determined I was going to make sure he didn't have that problem again, so I "water" him 3 times a day with one of those 12cc plastic syringes you get from the dentist.
My Tomtat (long-departed, back in 2001) had that problem. We took him to the vet, who was able to get him unblocked, and we were told to stop feeding him fish, and make sure he got a low-ash, low-magnesium diet.

We followed those instructions, and he never had any more problems with it.

Yesterday was my 40th anniversary of being owned by my first cat (a little 5-week-old Siamese kitten who I named Cassandra).

So foster kitty Lily has gone off to her new forever home. Sad to see her go. Going to miss being headbutted awake in the mornings.

No, seriously.

Still, new foster cat Pedro has joined the household. Miniature panther. A very shy one currently, who's taken to hiding in the top of the airing cupboard. Dark, Cosy, warm.

Still, he can be tempted down with a treat or two.

Lily was a tiny cat. Barely 3kg. Pedro is a monster at over 6kg.

Handsome fella though. Hopefully being all black won't hurt his chances of adoption.

Been feeding another homeless cat. This one in a grocery store parking lot. There are four, actually, but this one is seen more consistently, and comes when I call it. Got a break through last night -- it was actually looking for me.

It's a nice black cat. Not too dissimilar from Hugo's black cats above.

Even though he's a he, you should name him Frankenstein. If I ever had a black cat I would've named him or her Frankenstein or Sabbath.

We're just fostering him until someone gives him a new forever home. I can't take his givenname from him.

He came into the house as a Pedro, he shall leave as one!!

Hugo - take only pictures, leave only love
