There have been a lot of great writer-artist partnerships in comics where the two compliment each other perfectly, and the end result can often be more than the sum of its parts. Here are some of my personal favourite teams:
Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle on Detective Comics, Batman, and early issues of "Shadow of the Bat" in the late 80s/early 90s. Still the greatest run on the character there has ever been.
Peter Milligan and Brendan McCarthy on Paradax, Skin and Rogan Gosh.
Peter Milligan and Duncan Fedrego on Enigma, Girl and various Vertigo one-shots.
Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely on We3, All-Star Superman and Flex Mentallo (which I presume is great, based on what I've seen).
And finally, a shout out to Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli for Batman: Year One and Daredevil - they didn't produce a lot together, but what they did produce was fantastic.
Anyone here have anything to add or dispute?
