Favourite trek villians?

The Borg, before Voyager screwed them up.

But to pick an individual--Gul Dukat! I didn't even mind the red-eye thing so bad, thanks to Marc Alaimo's acting... ;)

The romulans, they have never been explored fully so there is still an element of mystery surrounding them.

The dominion and the hirogens were good too.

Kindof the Dominion, more the Founders and Vorta, as I sympathize with the Jem'Hadar.
My trouble lately with ST is that aliens from other movies keep cropping up, and even if they seemed very unique at first, in lit, now they aren't:
Hirogen have become more like the Predators
I've seen aliens from Aliens
I've seen stuff that looks things from Starship Troopers...
And while ideas will bounce back and forth, its going a little far, though maybe I'm just too familiar with alien films.

I must say that Trek Lit lately has made me scared of the Borg and Vorta... so I'll go with the leaders of the Dominion... and maybe Q... lol...

Marie--that's similar to what happens with me and Cardassians. I can only see Cardassian individuals as villains, not see the entire race that way, because I sympathize so much with what the masses of their people have to put up with thanks to the bad ones.

liked the romulans myself though i would go with gul dukat as a individual villain, he's just above soran in my books

Khan, Gul Dukat, The Borg, The Dominion, The Slimy Dude from "Skin of Evil", the Romulans, General Chang.

At their best, the Borg were damn scary.
Also, Gul Dukat was probably the best, most well-developed villain in Trek history. Love him or hate him, you felt something strong about him.
Klingons, at their not-yet-overused best.
Same for Romulans.
I can't remember the name, but the guy played by Peter Weller in Enterprise who was a xenophobe.

The Xindi were pretty well thought-out.
So were the Hirogen and the Dominion.

Still, I can't think of any that can come close to Lost In Space's Tobar the Carrot Man.

I gotta go with Khan for the #1. Others would be......

The Dominion (Founders/Vorta/Jem'hadar)
The Gorn-I love those green bastards.
The Hirogen
Berman and Braga-;):p

Well wouldn't Q be classified as a villian? I mean, he does things that in his mind is fun, but to the human race and other races it's bad. So technically I think Q is my favorite cuz he really can't be defeated.

Exactly! :)

To the effect that not all Cardassians are bad- and I mean, look at the propaganda the Cardassians were fed (from what I gather in the lit), and then look at the actions of the Cardassians once the occupation ended. Yes, there were those like Dukat who wanted the old ways- to scramble up the power ladder any way they could... but look at the other helpful ones, not just Maritza, but... even the 2 scientists- I'd like to think they're probably regular Cardassians.

In the same way, while the Founders are paranoid, the selfish and... words cannot describe... nature of the Vorta makes the situation worse, especially Weyoun let on the lose to kill all he wants- it was his idea to target Cardassian civilians... yet individual Jem'Hadar have shown far more understanding. To borrow a line from Taran'atar: "I do not kill without reason..." (Warpath) and he didn't do it, Ometi'klan, Goron'agar, Ikat'ika didn't do it either- and look and where it got them- all Jem'Hadar firsts... a good lesson in real life to not judge groups, I think. :)

Q
Garak
"MU" just about anybody
The Borg (but not the Queen -- totally ruined the whole concept)
Kahn

Even the military had decent people, though we didn't get to see a lot of them because the power structure probably didn't favor them. I mean, Tekeny Ghemor, Ari, Joret Dal, (eventually) Damar, Daro--and I even think Macet...I kind of wished we'd gotten to see more Cardassians like that, since "The Wounded" (to me) set up a very three-dimensional group with very distinct worldviews and personalities. It took a long time to see that sort of diversity again.

Yep. You know, I do find myself having to wonder, though, if not all of the Vorta were so awful. I mean, we did see the defective Weyoun, but personally...Kilana didn't come across quite as bad as the other Vorta. Maybe her model was made to be a bit more compassionate than some of the others?

All worth of Favourite Villians, however, my vote has to go to Annorax from Voyager "Year of Hell" here was a guy that for over 200 years roamed the DQ elimanating entire species from existance, he said that he had elimated hundreds of worlds, brought them back, then elimated them again. All to restore one coloney, Kiana Prime, all the other Villians were pretty bad, even with the BORG once you were assimilated that was that. With Annorax he would elimate you, bring you back and then elimate you again. This guy totally sucked, great acting job by Kurtwood Smith thought...

Resistance is Futile

The Borg and The Breen, very provocative and scary folks. The Dominion -- specifically Weyoun, Species 8472, and the Hirogen. Tony Todd played a marvelous Hirogen hunting the Species 8472 alien.

The flip side would be that freakish race of beings that did the body part grafting in Voyager.
