Favourite Transporter Effect

Which is your favourite transporter lighting effect?

The first Ferengi one with the wraparound effect was pretty cool.

Favorite Federation one would be DS9's, I disliked Voyager's and wish they wouldn't of changed it. All they really added were blue balls anyway.

The TWOK one. Not only was it cool visually, but you didn't have to stand perfectly still during the process and it was possible to have an uninterrupted conversation as well.

I loved the swirly nuTrek one. Followed by Nemesis' updated TNG teleport.

I also kinda like the rubbishy Wrath of Khan one - just coz it looks so tacky and 2D.

The Klingon transporter from "Day of the Dove." They silently flicker in and out, then materialize.

Makes good tactical sense, why alert a enemy that you're arriving?

Voyager's is actually my favorite. I like the blue balls. My second favorite is the Wrath of Khan effect.

Also saves the time and cost of creating and dubbing in a new sound effect.

I might be in the minority, but I kind of liked Enterprise's effect, beginning in the center of the body and expanding outwards as the little slider bar is moved.

I really don't get that... judging by the sensitive nature of the scan, moving around and chatting seems to be at odds with the whole process. I'd much rather go with a transporter that initiates some kind of momentary paralysis, so that there's no chance for error in the molecular scan.

In TNG's "Realm of Fear", the episode where Barclay has his transporter psychosis as the main plot device, he's fully conscious and moving around, as if he's in some kind of benign shower of light and bubbles. He's being dematerialized, dammit! You can't function with PART of your body intact! It just doesn't make any sense.

The Cardassian one really is stunning.
