Favourite TOS Episode

Balance of Terror: A multidimensional adversary for Kirk who could have been his friend in a different reality.

"The Doomsday Machine" or "Balance of Terror" depending on the tides of the sea and the vernal equinox.

"The Doomsday Machine" or "Balance of Terror" depending on the tides of the sea and the vernal equinox.
And sunspots. Don't forget sunspots.

"Doomsday Machine" for me, as often as not, but there are others which might be the one favorite on any given day.

I'd have to say The Enterprise Incident, but I am not sure why. Maybe because of the Romulans since Balance of Terror is probably number 2 with me. I gotta say I always like watching the Cage too maybe just because it is Trek, but kinda not at the same time.

Demon Seed
 Demon Seed is actually a song by Nine Inch Nails. But I guess you were thinking of Space Seed. :p
and Nine Inch Nails got the title from the following 1977 film..

Wow, that was scary. And weird. I see it has Trek's Gerrit Graham and Michael Dorn as part of its cast. And the music's by TOS' own Jerry Fielding! Is is worth to check out?

Are you sure though that's what inspired the NIN song?

Too bad you 'had to' because I spelled Mirror Mirror corectly.
Nope, you didn't spell it 'corectly'. It's Mirror, Mirror. :p

A comma vs a hyphen is not 'spelling'----that was really a reach---a pointless unfunny reach.
Oh come on, got up on the wrong side of the bed? It's punctuation then, not spelling. To be honest, I just noted it, because you made a comment on someone calling their favorite episode just 'pretty good'. I just found that ... amusing, considering you wrote the title of your favorite episode incorrectly.

It was just in jest. Just an innocent joke, honestly. I didn't mean to attack you or something. Sorry, if that was unclear. :)

It was SO amusing that I used a hyphen vs a comma that you had to comment on it as a 'spelling' error? (although it is actually puntuation)

Yes that would really compare someone calling their all-time favorite episode---'pretty good' ??

Again, pointless, unfunny, unnecessary & I get up on the right side of the bed every day. That doesn't make lame attempts at humor funny though.

What percentage of folks would notice or care that I used a hyphen or think that was comprable to calling your favorite episode 'pretty good'?

"pretty good' is a darnn odd way of describing your all-time favorite episode of Trek unless you're not that big on Trek which begs the question--why would that person be posting here?

Now plese, please make sure you get the last word.........

'k guys, drop it.

No one gives a fuck about the punctuation issue except the two of you. Take it elsewhere.

My two cents...........

A Trekkie describing his favorite episode as petty good-- IS amusing
A Trekkie leaving out a comma(!) when mentioning his---IS NOT

My fav.........this week it's Arena, last week City...., last month Who Mourns...

Hope I didn't spell something wrong---wouldn't want to be responsible for splitting somebody's side.

I myself really enjoyed "A Taste of Armageddon". It was one of those episodes where Kirk and crew actually visited an advanced alien culture that not only didn't test them, but were inferior to their way of thinking!

I mean, how many episodes deal with superior aliens testing humans to see if they're worthy of, well, anything? And Kirk didn't burst anyone's bubble by saying their bible is a lie or that they're living an illusion, but just using common sense. That was awesome.

I'd have to go with:

1. Journey To Babel
2. The Doomsday Machine
3. Balance Of Terror
4. Mirror, Mirror

... and I could go on from there, but those are the ones that stand out for me, at least at this moment.

When I need a laugh: Whom Gods Destroy

"Serious" Episode: This Side of Paradise

Just good entertainment: Journey to Babel

If I must decide on ONE episode, then it's This Side of Paradise.

1. "City on the Edge..."
2. "The Doomsday Machine"
3. "Mirror, Mirror"
4. "The Cage"
5. "Space Seed"
