Favourite TOS Episode

Hey just wondering what everyone's favourite TOS episode is

My personal favourite is 'Errand of Mercy' with the Organians and the first ever Klingon

:klingon:

You mean Richard Ludlim? :rommie:

But seriously, it's too hard to pick.

If i had to save one ep for posterity--with a gun at my head....

i'd pick 'City....'

I know it's cliche to say that, but it is a great episode. The 'big 3' rule, the secondary characters do their little bits and the story despite it's convoluted history is fantastic.

Probably Journey to Babel - I really like Vulcans.

But I also love The City on the Edge of Forever. And Balance of Terror.

My favorite episode is A Piece of the Action. It was one of the first eps. I saw and I think it has a good mix of humor and action which is always a good thing in Trek in my opinion. (when done well that is!)

"The Doomsday Machine." It's got an unknown threat that has already wrecked a starship (so you KNOW it's really dangerous), great character moments (the power struggle between Spock and Decker on the bridge of the Enterprise is a classic), and, last but not least, Kirk putting his life on the line to save the day at the end. A very satisfying Trek! :)

Amok Time. It's pretty good. There are also a handful of other ones I might say are the best on any given day though.

Most of the time it's either All Our Yesterdays, Journey to Babel or Space Seed.

I think today I tend towards All Our Yesterdays. :D

For me it is Mirror, Mirror. It was my favorite as a kid and still is today.

of topic... NCC-1701 that is a GREAT av!!!:techman:

Either:

Doomsday Machine
The Ultimate Computer

or

The Tholian Web

All these are excellent and too hard to pick from.

When I want to be different around here I say Space Seed.

But in reality it's probably Balance of Terror for me too.

It depends upon my mood. But I'm right partial to "Balance of Terror" since I'm a great fan of the Romulans. :vulcan:

I like that someone calls their favorite episode 'pretty good'

I think my favorite Mirror-Mirror is damn great!!

And I like that someone misspells the title of his favorite episode. :p

(Sorry, I just had to. :D)

Top 5:

1. The Trouble with Tribbles: A joy to watch from start to finish.
2. Space Speed: Features the most fascinating guest character in the series, with brilliantly written and delivered dialogue, which is a treat to hear.
3. Balance of Terror: The most surprisingly and satisfyingly suspenseful episode of Star Trek I've seen and my favourite Mark Lenard performance, even though I always loved his work as Spock's father.
4. Journey to Babel: The most interesting and powerful examination of Spock's character (much better than "Amok Time", which I find horrible). When his mother slapped him, it was a total "holy shit" moment for me.
5. The City on the Edge of Forever: The most dramatically powerful episode and one of the few episodes that I thought was never cheesy even with the wacky-looking Guardian.

Agreed, for me it's absolutely impossible to just pick one episode..but here's a few... Enemy within, deadly years, court martial, menagerie, naked time.

I remember HATING the alternative factor as a kid...HATING IT...i didn't understand it and the guy was very let me be nice and say "unattractive" with that foul fake beard.

I agree, "The Doomsday Machine" has always been my all time favourite TOS episode. It had great action and even a better story.:techman:
