Eric Johnson's "Cliffs of Dover" deserves a placement here, I'd say.
Indeed it does. Haven't heard it in ages. Dang that song brings back some great memories of a great time in my life for me. Thanks for bringing it up. I'm enjoying the pick me up vibe.

I'll also throw out WAR by Joe Satriani. I start playing this one in my truck and next thing I know I'm doing 90mph on the interstate. Oh hell just about anything by Joe Satriani from 'Surfing with the Alien' on to 'The Extremist'

I love a lot of Apocalyptica's stuff, beyond just the Metallica covers of their first album.
 
I almost said that but then I had a room mate who was love sick over a girl named Jessica. This was right after the album came out. He played that song again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again andagainandagainandagainandagain...

It took me years to like Jessica after that. Still, it's a great song.
