I only noticed after I'd voted (for Pertwee) that I could vote for two others as well. Troughton and Davison would have received those votes.Only 18 for Troughton? I guess that's quite high given as to how few of his stories survive and how few nuWho viewers have never seen him.

Silly me jumped in and just voted for Colin before noticing I had three votes. The other two would have gone to McGann and either Trout or Tom (probably Trout).
I think my full ranking at the moment goes:
Colin
McGann
Trout
Tom
McCoy
Smith
Pertwee
Hartnell
Tennant
Davison
Eccleston
As I say, Trout and Tom may sometimes switch places, as is the case with McCoy/Smith and Pertwee/Hartnell/Tennant.
That is my favorite word in the English language. You'd be surprised at just how much a book, episode, film, etc. title can be improved just by replacing a word with "Trout"!![]()
A trout in the hand is worth two in the...erm...river.
In chronological order: Troughton; Baker, T; and Eccleston
I really can't make up my mind on the order of these three. Matt Smith comes a close fourth but I can't, with clear conscience, place him in the top three until I see more of him...

But I do find it amazing as to how some people can just view two of his stories and instantly fall in love with his portrayal.
Besides -- Tom Baker, Colin Baker and Peter Davison can't be wrong since HE is their favorite Doctor. (In Tom's case, after him obviously)

Interesting, considering Matt Smith has now been in as many episodes as Eccleston.
