Favourite deleted scenes?

F. King Daniel

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
With a couple of exceptions (like Bujold!Janeway scenes from "Caretaker"), Enterprise is the first Trek series to include deleted scenes on it's DVDs.

Does anyone have favouites? I really liked Trip's story about Archer in "Shuttlepod One", which painted him as a Chuck Norris/Captain Robau -like man god.

On the flip side, the scene with Archer's girlfriend in "The Expanse" (which I've just gotten to in my rewatch, so I haven't seen any deleted scenes in episodes past it) was utterly pointless and unconvincing. But I liked the scene where Archer misinterprets Hoshi's packing to mean she's leaving.

Anyone else got any favourites, or scenes they're especially glad didn't make it into the final episode?

I like the one from "Two Days and Two Nights", it would have been a nice scene to start off the episode, and I like the one from "The Aenar" where the Senator and the Admiral are taken under arrest as it shows something quintessential Romulan. They could have decided to not use the vampires from the dark side of the moon again though.

I like the deleted scenes from "E2" (no surprise there ;) ) - an expanded converstaion between Trip and Lorian that gives us more insight into Lorian's parents, and a scene between Archer and Phlox talking about the E2 crew.

I like the Hoshi-packing scene in The Expanse, too. The relief on Archer's face is priceless. But I also like the girlfriend (Rebecca) scene. It's one of the only times we ever see Archer as anything but Captain (or whatever rank he was in First Flight). And-- striding down the street in his civvies = hotness.

Yes. Netflix/Amazon Prime cannot help with these. I do like the extra content on the DVD's and I think this is the only show that I have bothered to watch the commentary versions of some episodes.

Favorite - E2
Least favorite - I cannot remember the episode. It was an early episode about Archer needing some sex. In the deleted scene he asks Trip "When was the last time you ... uh ... you know." It was horrible writing, badly directed, very rushed and the actors looked very uncomfortable. It was like they decided "If we make this really, really bad they will cut it and no one will ever see this scene." Sorry guys. ... Almost.

Fun question!

I really liked Trip's story about Archer in "Shuttlepod One", which painted him as a Chuck Norris/Captain Robau -like man god.

That's my favourite deleted scene too.

Not only does it give Trip some much needed background, but it also puts Reed's awful speech about T'Pol's bum into a different perspective. As I see it, Malcolm is trying to cheer gloomy Trip up by going silly over T'Pol's bum.

IMO, the episode would have been stronger, if TPTB had kept it in.

My favorite scene as well and I must admit that I couldn't agree with you more about what Malcolm was trying to do for Trip. It would have made an already excellent episode that much better (to paraphrase "This is Spinal Tap"), it would have made it an 11 and not a 10!

Miss Lemon that's why I stopped watching them. Some of the scenes are just pointless exchanges. However I know I've missed at least something good in there.
