I'm surprised and pleased to see Hudsucker Proxy get so much attention, though I don't personally consider it one of my favorites.

Almost all of them are good films (many of them great) so I can't possibly pick just one as my favorite though I guess if I had to I'd choose Fargo with Miller's Crossing a close second. Next up would be Raising Arizona, Barton Fink, O Brother, and Blood Simple. Their entire oeuvre is rare in both it's variety and quality of craft.

The Big Lebowski in a heartbeat. There's not one frame in that movie which doesn't make me smile, giggle, laugh my ass off, or pour another White Russian.

I think that No Country For Old Men is perhaps their best film, but as far as my favorite goes I would have to choose O Brother, Where Art Though?

One of my biggest omissions is that I've never seen many of the Coen Brothers films. That said, while I fell in love with them ever since I saw "Raising Arizona" my personal favourite is "O Brother..."

I loved Fargo. I can watch that over and over and never get tired of it. Miller's Crossing is a close second, and I also enjoyed The Big Leboski.

I have only seen two of these movies, but I enjoyed both of them.

1. O Brother Where Art Thou - Every time this movie comes on, I HAVE to watch it. And to think, when I originally saw the trailer I thought the movie looked stupid and worthless. Boy, was I wrong!

2. Raising Arizona - This is also a great movie, but I have only seen it once. Someday I really should rent it.

I had a tough time deciding between The Big Lebowski and No Country for Old Men, but I went with No Country for Old Men. I don't think I've ever been so riveted by a movie like I was the first time I saw it in theaters.

The Big Lebowski.

"Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, what condition my condition was iiiiiiiiiiin!"

"Donny you're out of your element!"

"Nihilists! Fuck me. I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos."

"And what was all that shit about Vietnam?!"

So far, I've only seen two Coen Brothers films: O Brother, Where Art Thou? and No Country for Old Men. I really enjoyed O Brother, but No Country was quite simply the best film I saw last year, so I'm going with that one. Do plan on looking at more of their past films at some point, of course.

I've only seen - and own - The Big Lebowski so far, though I intend to fix this error in judgement someday soon. TBL is one of my favourite comedies ever btw

I had to go for Fargo, it was just brilliant.

The runner up would be Raising Arizona.

Had to go with The Big Lebowski. First DVD I ever owned, as it happens. Mind you, O Brother, Fargo, and Raising Arizona don't fall far behind, and I have a certain fondness for Intolerable Cruelty as well (the bit where Wheezy Joe confuses his gun and his inhaler never fails to make me laugh, macabre though that might seem). Hell, I love all of them, though (as can be seen from my choices) I lean toward their more comedic fare.

I should mention, though, that I've fallen behind and haven't seen The Ladykillers or No Country... yet.

No, Lebowski takes the cake, though. So quotable. So much fun. Inspired in me such a great love for White Russians, and bowling, not to mention other,uh ... forms of recreation.

Miller's Crossing.

Awesome, all the way through.
Raising Arizona and Fargo are in my top 50 as well.

Blood Simple - underrated.
The Big Lebowski - overrated.

The Big Lebowski. I nearly cried with laughter in the cinema when I saw it and again when I watched it on video. I always watch it any time it's on tv and I cry with laughter all over again. I nearly know the script off by heart.

Why critics prefer Fargo (which is a great movie), I don't know. But Walter and The Dude are the funniest double act since Laurel and Hardy.
