No, but seriously... I've seen all the Brosnan and Craig's pre-
SPECTRE ones, and I'm not sure I can say I
really like any of them.
Casino Royale is no doubt the best of that lot, but the second half isn't as strong as the first. (There's just no good reason not to arrest and interrogate Le Chiffre as soon as they meet up with him.) I saw
Goldfinger once, but much too long ago to properly remember it. Watched
Dr. No a few years back, and was mostly bored. Watched most of
The Living Daylights around the same time and really enjoyed what I saw, but was interrupted and didn't get around to finishing it. As for
Skyfall... the less said the better, IMO. At least
Quantum of Solace had the decency to take itself out back and shoot itself before the two-hour mark. It says something when I find the first
Austin Powers more emotionally involving than most
actual Bond flicks.
There was a time, back in middle school, when I thought
Tomorrow Never Dies was just the coolest and most badass movie around. Naturally, I don't think that anymore... but it
does have a pretty great opening sequence, right? As does
GoldenEye and
Casino Royale. Can I just cite those three opening sequences as my favorite short films featuring some bloke named James Bond?
