favourite and least favourite doctor?.

Matt Smith seems more like watching an old-school Doctor than his two immediate predecessors IMHO. He does seem quirky, and far more Time Lordish in a way niehter the short-lived Eccleston or the OTT Tennant managed to convey properly.
^Although, compared to Eccleston, Tennant seemed a lot closer to a classic Doctor back when he started. Certainly he's the biggest fanboy to ever play the Doctor; perhaps the biggest fanboy actor ever to land in his favorite franchise.

I am currently returning to my mid-80s roots and watching the Davison/ Baker Doctors. They have something in them that spells drama and I like that. Everything from the cliffhangers to the dramatic very 80s theme music and incidental music.
Tennant did start out a more tradirional Doctor compared to Eccleston, but changed over the course of his tenure.

Best is Tennant with Pertwee second best. Worst is McGann with McCoy a close second worst.
Tom Baker will always and forever be the single best but I have an open mind to enjoy them all.
how could you tell with McGann? We saw him onscreen for about an hour, and for about a third of that, he wasn't really himself, as he was disoriented from regeneration.
McGann began to trend of the Doctor as a very romantic figure, IMO.
^ I remember reading an interview with McGann where he said that he wasn't very happy about the Doctor kissing Daphne. So when he did it, he kept his lips chaste and closed.
Thank God for that. There is way too much of the Doctor kissing a girl in today's Who.

Now that is how the Doctor should behave, resisting the girls crushes on him if they got them. He is, after all, several centuries old, and it's not proper for him to snog everything on the planet. lol.
