Favorite Writer For VOYAGER...

Farscape One

Admiral

I always kept tabs on who wrote and directed episodes. And certain people tended to make some of my personal favorite episodes.

For this series, I have to put Joe Menosky as my writer for VOYAGER. Even though he did a good chunk of his episodes with Brannon Braga, a lot of his solo work I really love... "THE THAW", "TINKER, TENOR, DOCTOR, SPY", "BLINK OF AN EYE", "MUSE"... you can tell from his episodes he loves mythology and the idea of mythology.

Does anyone have a favorite writer/producer?

I haven't really paid attention to that, but I agree with the episodes you listed. Those are among my favorites.

EDIT
Just did a little research, based on who wrote my favorite episodes I would say my favorite writer is Kenneth Biller

Mike DeLuca! (j/k)

Good thread. The Voyager forum has been quiet lately.

I can't pick one, but I'll pick two. Braga & Menosky. Looking at the list, they seem to write the episodes that I feel are the strongest.

For writer's staff writers, the earlier episodes by Lisa Klink are the ones I'm not as crazy about, and I was surprised that Mike Sussman has credit for a bunch of episodes I'm not as fond of(I still like them, though)

So two up, and two down.

Edit: and I just noticed this thread was not started today.

Interesting that you chose Braga. I think he gets a very bad rep because some of the bad ones he was respobsible for. But I think people forget all the good that he was responsible for. I think for the most part he is one of the better writers.

Yeah, I think so. They both wrote for a ton of episodes, but here are the ones where Braga has sole credit(story and script?)

-Projections
-Non Sequitur
-Deadlock
-Flashback
-Macrocosm
-Prey

As for ones they wrote together, this isn't all of them, but I like all of these:

-Cathexis
-Future's End 1&2
-Scorpion 1&2
-Distant Origin
-Year of Hell 1&2
-Living Witness
-Hope & Fear
-Night
-Timeless
-Latent Image
-Equinox 1 & 2

Menosky has sole credit on some favs as well, like The Gift, Voyager Conspiracy, and Muse, which I think was his last story, and feels like a clever analogue to the Star Trek writers room. It's a very unique episode to Star Trek.

Braga certainly has his good episodes. However, he seems to have an obsession with time travel.

Out of all the episodes he wrote, co-wrote, did a story, or wrote the teleplay, about 1/4 deal with time. Considering he is credited with about 110 episodes, that's a lot to say about time.

Actually, I believe the "UNIMATRIX ZERO" two-parter is Menosky's last writing credit in the STAR TREK franchise. (Until his DISCOVERY episode airs, anyway.)

But you are right in that "MUSE" was his last solo effort... and it does seem to be an almost meta episode about the writers of the series.

Do you mean including TNG?

I just scrolled through the episodes and writer credits and I like Braga's more adventurous tone to episodes. Berman too. Big generalisation.. but Biller and Jeri Taylor touch on social and relationship themes more.
