Favorite U.S.S. Enterprise starship design?

What is your all time favorite U.S.S. ENTERPRISE STARSHIP design?

My choice is the Constitution Class-Refit 1979-1991(a.k.a. Enterprise Class):
NCC-1701(Refit Constitution Class) from Star Trek:TMP, WOK and SFS.
NCC-1701-A(Refit Constitution Class) as seen in Star Trek:VH, FF and UC.

NCC-1701-C, Ambassador-class.

I liked how it was an intermediate design between the Excelsior-class and the Galaxy-class and had characteristics of both.

The Ambassador would definitely be my second, excellent design that deserved to be used a lot more than NG "Yesterday's Enterprise".

I will have to say the 1701 Refit. Aesthetically she really works for me. I also like the Enterprise-B.

(I was going to be controversial and say the NX-01 but it is technically not a U.S.S. Enterprise. That ship did not include the U.S.S. prefix. But I do love her though.)

Sovereign-class. I've always been fond of the beefed-up Excelsior that was the Enterprise-B, too.

1. TMP refit: She never looked better than she did in the first two films.

2. TOS E: Classic design. Started it all. In realm of iconic space ships, it's gotta be in the top 5 all time.

3. Enterprise D: Does not get enough love. It was an innovative design that worked.

4. Enterprise D: All Good Things - the rambo refit kitbash was kind of cool.

5. Enterprise C - it's got some bad angles, but is an interesting transitional design.

6. Enterprise E - it's not that cool. It's like a 15-year-old's attempt to make the ship cool - make it squat - make it angular - make it look like it's moving.

7. The Nu-Enterprise.

8. The Enterprise B. It's like the Enterprise E, except it's ugly.

I like the ENT-E. Sleek and dangerous. A warship, not a cruise ship or a glorified flying saucer.

Next is the NX-01, but not for the exterior so much as the interior design, which I thought was SO wonderfully conceived as a mix of 20th/21st century design and 23rd.

3. Enterprise D: Does not get enough love. It was an innovative design that worked.

Agreed. it's my personal favorite of all of them, and always will be. I still can't believe they destroyed it simply to make that butt-ugly Enterprise-E.

A qualified answer.

Most credible looking: TMP refit Enterprise.
Overall favourite: TOS Enterprise

I would have to say that my favorite would be the NX-01 version of the enterprise line.
I know it was the primitive enterprise all enterprise after it can blow it up with one of there torpedoes, but it looks sleek, fast, and it looks like a a ship you wouldn't want to mess with if you didn't know anything about it.

now i wouldn't go as far to say that the enterprise E is a child's version of a cool ship. It actually has a more practical design to it than the more bulky enterprises. A ships design is all about its intimidation, if it looks mean and fast, chances are your not going to mess with it, but if it is like the bulky ships, that look slow but big, your going to see its disadvantages right away.

^ I wouldn't either. I actually like the shape of the Enterprise-E. I have never liked the detailing, especially all the dark painted areas on the hull. Some of the terracing is a little over done as well.

How about somebody put together a definitive list of all the versions (and sub versions) and then post a poll? It'd be interesting to see which one is most popular. Given by what I've seen on TrekBBS, I'd say the TMP refit (NCC-1701A) would be the most popular... and it's my favorite as well. :)

You could do that, and you wouldn't get the answer about whats your favorite ship, you would get whats your favorite show.

I'll say NX-01. It was a practical design with some neat technology and looked very nice at most angles. My favorite nacelles too.

Officially, the Refit-E/1701-A model from movies I-VI.

Unofficially, a tossup between Dennis Bailey's Phase II design and the KoernerPrise.
