Favorite Trek Moments?

Everybody has their favorite moments from the series/movies, right? I love alot of the battles of Deep Space Nine, with the really big fleets going against thousands of Dominion warships! Especially anything with the Romulans, they're cool too. I think though, my absolute number 1 top of the list favorite moment is from First Contact, when Picard shot the two Borg on the holodeck. It was awe-inspiring, since shooting someone is the last thing Picard would do, and to see him go wild. What are some of your favorite moments from any of the series/movies?

The attack on the Borg cube during First Contact.
Spock taking the Jellyfish in Star Trek XI.
The ending of "In the Pale Moonlight"

I loved the scene in Generations when the saucer section crash-landed and plowed into the ground, knowing that the saucer was never designed to do such a thing.

But they did it and survived.

(However, blueprints for the TOS Enterprise show legs that extended out of the bottom of the saucer for a landing, but I don't know if later Enterprises had that feature.)

"That'll be the day." - Yesterday's Enterprise

Kirk, Spock and McCoy chatting about Genesis in TWOK.

Decker and V'Ger getting freaky - in a metaphysical sense

I could go on.

Seeing the black/gray uniforms for the first time in FC; my friend had already shown them to me some time before I started watching TNG at all and I always thought they were the coolest. It really was great seeing them in motion.

That huge battle from Sacrifice of Angels. Holy crap that it seriously one of the coolest battles ever to me, in science fiction.

The beginning of Scorpion when you see those two cubes get taken out so easily.

Many scenes involving the unimportant one-episode goldshirts on DS9. They were treated like people, and not like expendable nobodies like on TOS (and were 'redshirts' then. And to a lesser extent, TNG had the same issue). "The Ship", and the bit characters of Neely and Gordon in "Rocks and Shoals" come to mind.

And the last one that I have off the top of my head is "Good tea. Nice house."

I'm sure if I thought about it, I would have several favorite Trek moments, but one in particular comes to mind.

The moment is in DS9, during the 7th season Dominion War arc, when Kira first steps on screen in a Starfleet uniform, headed off to bolster the Cardassian resistance. This shows amazing character growth because at the beginning of the show, she hated Cardassians and resented Starfleet. This scene symbolized the culmination of 7 years of character growth.

Special to me is always the scene in The Ultimate Computer, where Kirk quotes from "Sea Fever." That was the first moment in Star Trek that I ever realized there was more to this show than rayguns and rocketships.

I am also always moved by Spock's breakdown in "The Naked Time," and how he and Kirk pull each other out of their funks. It really demonstrates the close bond between these two characters.

I guess mine would have to be a classic, when Spock thought he'd killed the captain (in Amok Time) and then turns around and is obviously thrilled to see him alive. I thought it was very sweet. And then slightly marred by Kirk and McCoy teasing him about it. But still, really cute moment.

The one that always comes to my mind when asked is when Cpt Maxwell and Chief O'Brien are together and O'Brien begins to sings. It does help that it's one of my favourite songs

The "Moby Dick" scene between Lily and Picard in First Contact.

Picard dressing-down Riker in The Pegasus.

Sisco pulling rank on Nog in Paradise Lost (or is it Home Front?)

Picard reaming Wesley a new one in The First Duty.

All the fleet battles in DS9.

Janeway's reaction to seeing Earth in Death Wish.

The destruction of Earth and later the loss of the NX-01 in Twilight.

It's fun to reflect on my favourite moments of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" as I'm only three episodes away from finishing watching the series for the first time. I imagine I may have some more favourite moments in the two part series finale. :)

"They're all true"
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies".

:)

This, and the two most moving emotional breakdowns: Aamin Marritza in "Duet" (the bit when he begins to cry) and Picard in "The Inner Light" ("oh, it's me!")

Oh, and one more:

"It was an army. They destroyed the city, but they left Narok alive. His name means "fool" in our language, AS YOURS WILL, IN ANDORIAN!"

The nuEnterprise warping into battle with the Narada, the fleet taking back DS9, the Borg battle in FC. I could go on. I don't have one set favorite moment; after 40o plus years of trek, there's a lot there.

I laughed for 10 minutes when Tuvok tells Paris he needs to 'help' B'Ellana in Blood Fever lest her pon farr related symptoms kill her. I know it isn't really a classic moment, but I enjoyed it immensely.

After rereading this thread again, all I can say is "Damn! There have been some awesome moments in Trek over the years." No wonder this franchise has survived to long.

"Now I know why it's called 'she'."
"Let's get the hell out of here."
"I like Italian, and so do you."
"The line must be drawn here! Now!"
"I'm a doctor, not a doorstop."

Oh, I forgot:
When the Enterprise swung around behind the Reliant in the nebula- thanks in no small part to James Horner's stirring score!:techman:
