favorite TOS cliches

What elements of TOS do you enjoy seeing over and over?

-Kirk ripping his shirt
-Kirk karate chop
-green/blue alien women (either skin or hair color or both)
-Kirk gets the girl
-Spock nerve pinch
-Spock mind-meld
-McCoy: I'm a doctor not blah blah
-Chekov: Russia did it first

What about the one where McCoy tells Spock he's "the coldest person I've ever met" or something similar, and Spock says, "Why, thank you, Doctor." I think that was repeated a couple times. As well as the one where Kirk tells Spock he's acting a little human and Spock replies that he doesn't need to stand there and be insulted. Not quite us ubiquitous as "I'm a doctor, not a..." but still something that's markedly TOS.

-The fact that Kirk knows on a personal level nearly every starship or starbase commander he meets -- Stone, Mendez, Wesley, Decker, Tracey -- even failed ones like Merrick. (One reason I like the TNG ep "The Wounded" is that it's O'Brien, a noncom, who knows Captain Maxwell, and not Picard or Riker who is his best buddy!)

-Uhura's red panties showing every other ep, showing her shapely caboose!

-Spock and McCoy arching their eyebrows in surprise -- works better for Spock.

-Spock and McCoy trading insults.

^^^No prob. My internet toes are no worse for wear. I think I can share a cliche or two. Actually I forgot all about "Red Shirt 101," one of my favorite although tragic Trek Cliches.

What about "Live long & Prosper" or the less frequent prompt, "Peace & Long Life" ...? Do those qualify as cliches, or just ubiquitous phrases of Vulcanian culture like "May the force be with you" is to Star Wars and the Jedi creed?
