Favorite Single Scene From Each Trek Movie?

Vger23

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Just like it says...in the spirit of Lord Garth's "favorite episode from each season" thread!

TMP: Klingons attack on V'Ger
TWOK: Reliant sneak attack (runner up: Kirk and David in Kirk's quarters)
TSFS: Stealing the Enterprise
TVH: "My friends...we've come home"
TFF: Shared Pain As Enterprise approaches the barrier
TUC: Assassination
GEN: Saucer Crash
FC: "The line must be drawn here"
INS: Sunrise
NEM: Enterprise prepares for battle "I wait for the dawn..."
2009: George's Sacrifice
ID: USS Vengence arrives / "I'm sorry"
BEY: Spock and McCoy "I have always respected you Leonard"

TMP: Toss Up Between The Enterprise leaving Drydock and Spock steals a Thruster Suit
TWOK: Genesis Countdown before Spock's sacrifice
TSFS: Stealing The Enterprise
TVH: "Sounds like the Spanish Inquisition!"
TFF: Admiral Harve Bennett flatters Captain Kirk
TUC: Kirk and Bones escape from prison

TMP: Spock in his environmental space suit
TWOK: Spock's burial with Scotty playing the bagpipes
TSFS: Kirk's fight against Kruge
TVH: The Chase in the Hospital featuring Chekov, Kirk, McCoy and Gillian
TFF: Kirk falling down from El Capitan with Spock right behind him
TUC: Kirk saving the President and Azetbur's speech in one of the final scenes
GEN: Data finding his cat Spot well and alive after the crash of the saucer
FC: Drunk Troi
INS: The Dress Uniforms and Riker without beard
NEM: Data singing Blue Skies.

Insurrection and TMP are not my favorite movies, so it was difficult to find a scene I liked contrary to the other movies. I didn't watch the Abrams movies.

TMP - Non-Dialogue: When the Enterprise enters the V'Ger cloud. Still looks impressive. And those images make for great screen-savers. Dialogue (I'm cheating a bit here): It's a toss-up between the Klingons vs. V'Ger, Spock failing to achieve Kholinar, and Kirk's grand entrance appearance, not to mention the first appearance of Starfleet Command. So we have our dialogue scenes in Klingon, Vulcan, and English. ;)

TWOK - When Kirk signals Spock to beam them up, Saavik finds out they were talking in code, and then the Enterprise emerges to fight the Reliant. "Not as wounded as we were led to believe. So much the better." "I don't like to lose". Runner-up is when Spock notes Khan's two-dimensional thinking.

TSFS - Kirk and crew steal the Enterprise. The best part is when Kirk doesn't give a shit as Stiles says, "Kirk, you do this, you'll never sit in a Captain's chair again." Captain Stiles is a prissy asshole. I loved when the Excelsior screen flashed "Good morning, Captain." The runner-up is the exchange between Kirk and Kruge at the end of the movie. "You should take the Vulcan too." "No!" "But why?" "Because you wish it." Never, ever give The Enemy anything they want. Until they agree not to be the enemy. On another note, there are more than a few people where I wish I could've said to them, "I! Have had! Enough of! YOU!!!!!"

TVH - Spock in the whale-tank. "Maybe he's singing to that man!" Followed by Kirk's, "Back in the '60s he was part of the Free-Speech Movement at Berkeley. I think he did a little too much LDS..." "LDS?"

TFF - The scene where Sybok tries to reveal Spock's pain, then McCoy's pain, and finally Kirk's. And Kirk cuts him off. "I don't want my pain taken away. I need my pain!"

TUC - The montage of Kirk, McCoy, and Martia's journey on the surface of Rura Penthe. Runner-Up is the battle between Chang and the Enterprise, at the end.

GEN - Kirk and Picard on horseback. The most alive the movie felt.

FC - I have two answers for this. 17-year-old Lord Garth: Picard, Worf, and Hawk vs. the Borg on the exterior of the Enterprise. 39-year-old Lord Garth: Troi's drunk. "I am not!" "Yes, you are!"

INS - Shit. Ummm... I've got this... Picard putting on that head-piece those aliens we never see again make him put on.... Moving right along.

NEM - Riker and Troi getting married. Then, on the Enterprise, the crew talking about the ceremony on Betazed, ending with Picard saying he'll be in the gym.

2009 - Kirk's birth as the Kelvin is destroyed.

ID - Pike reprimanding Kirk and Spock. Then Pike and Kirk at the bar.

BEY - Spock looking at the photo of the Spock Prime with his crewmates. Leonard Nimoy's true final appearance, in my opinion. Standing proudly on the bridge of the Enterprise, with the crew he served alongside with all there and still alive. That's a moment truly worthy of Star Trek's 50th Anniversary. Then the NuEnterprise-A being built and taking off with the entire new crew giving the "Space, the final frontier..." speech showing to us all "The Adventure Continues." If this is the last film with the Kelvin crew, this is a good note to end it on. Technically, we don't actually need to see anymore. We know that they're still out there and, on a meta level, that Star Trek is still out there.

Yep. And Picard admonishs Worf, who desperately tried to find an excuse not to appear naked, for being so hesitant about the Betazoid wedding.

TMP: The shuttle ride around the Enterprise

TWOK: Kirk and Spock's final scene together before Spock dies

TSFS: The Stealing the Enterprise Sequence

TVH: Spock's Mind Meld with Gracie

TFF: McCoy having to face his grief of losing his father

TUC: The Battle between the Bird of Prey, The Enterprise, and the Excelsior

GEN: Kirk and Picard on horseback to when they exit the Nexus

FC: The end between Picard and Lily: "I Envy you, taking your first steps into the new frontier"

INS: The Riker Manuver

NEM: I haven't seen this movie in so long I don't know. Maybe Riker and Troi's wedding

ST 09: Kirk's birth

ID: Pike and Kirk in the Bar

Beyond: Jaylah meeting Scotty for the first time

TMP: Travel pod flyover of Enterprise-refit in drydock.
WOK: Khan's Reliant phaser bank attack on the Enterprise-refit upon first encountering Admiral Kirk. The might of a starship's phaser banks ripping into the port secondary hull of the Enterprise-refit was impressive.
SFS: Stealing the Enterprise-refit from spacedock.
TVH: The end, when Kirk & company arrive at the 1701-A in Spacedock. Love the look of the bridge.
TFF: Uhura piloting the shuttlecraft bringing Kirk, Spock and McCoy to the Enterprise-A Hangar deck greeted by Scotty waiting in Earth orbit.
TUC: Spock and McCoy in Enterprise-A torpedo bay prepping the photon torpedo and Kirk firing it.
GEN: Kirk, Chekov and Scotty on the 1701-B.
FC: When first we see the new 1701-E on it's shakedown assignment.
INS: The 1701-E Type-11 shuttle action with Picard and Worf.

STID: Spock talking to Kirk dying scene...friends.
STB: The time lapse 1701-A being built.

Don't know about favourite scenes really but I've always loved the image of The Enterprise and Gorkon's Klingon ship together in Star Trek VI:The Undiscovered Country!
JB

TMP: Enterprise leaves dry dock
TWOK: Battle in the Mutara Nebula
TSFS: Stealing the Enterprise
TVH: Spock and Sarek say goodbye
TFF: “brainwashing” scene
TUC: “Target that explosion and fire”

TMP: Probably the long look around the Enterprise.

TWOK: Spock's death scene. "I have been, and always shall be... your friend."

TSFS: Probably the scene of McCoy telling Spock how much he's missed him. DeForest Kelley was so much better than he usually got credit for.

TVH: "Do you guys like Italian?" "Yes." "No." "Yes." "No." "Yes. I love Italian. And so do you." "Yes." Superb comic timing.

TFF: Definitely the scene where Sybok shows Spock and McCoy their pain. The rest had problems, but that scene was really good.

TUC: "Is it possible, that we two, you and I, have grown so old and so inflexible that we have outlived our usefulness?"

GEN: Kirk & Picard on horseback: "I take it that the odds are against us and the situation is grim." "You could say that." "Sounds like fun."

FC: Drunk Troi. Who the hell knew that Troi could be funny? Or interesting?

INS & NEM: I honestly don't remember. I don't think I've seen either one since they were originally in theaters.

ST09: The opening scene with George Kirk sacrificing himself is a pretty great piece of cinema. I teared up the first time I watched it. Runner up is the first meeting of Kirk & McCoy. Karl Urban was a breath of fresh air in that movie.

ID: Umm... Hang on, I'll think of something...

Well, the scene surrounding it was stupid, gratuitous, and nonsensical, but Alice Eve did look pretty great in her underwear, so I guess that.

BEY: "Well, that's just typical."

TMP: Spock explores Vger's memories.
TWOK: Reliant ambushes the Enterprise.
TSFS: Stealing the Enterprise.
TVH: The Enterprise A reveal.
TFF: Entire I need my pain scene.
TUC: Torpedo surgery.
GEN: Kirk saves the Enterprise B.
FC: The line must be drawn here scene.
IN: Data asking Worf if he noticed if his boobs have firmed up.
NEM: Picard's dune buggy.
ST09: USS Kelvin opening scene.
ID: Rescue of Nibru opening scene.
BEY: Spock sees the picture of the TOS crew from TFF.

Great thread idea!

TMP: Klingon attack on V'Ger and monitoring of it at Epsilon Nine station

TSFS: Yeah, that "staling the Enterprise" sequence!
TVH: The crew sinking the BoP in San Francisco Bay and releasing the whales
TFF: "Row, row, row your boat"
TUC: The no-gravity assassination scene of Gorkon - that was brutal

GEN: Actually the holodeck sailing-ship scene:guffaw:
FC: The spacewalk / fight on the outer hull at the deflector dish! That scene was intense!
INS: Probably the Enterprise flying into the Briar Patch the first time
NEM: the opening -swoosh- from orbit to the Romulan city with Goldsmiths' music

2009: Kirk on bis bike seeing the Enterprise construction (also: The whole Kelvin opening)
ID: The Nibiru opening
BEY: Kirk's contemplating logbook entry montage in the beginning

I could very easily change my "Beyond" answer to this one. The log entry montage was great

TMP -- (1) Spock's spacewalk; (2) penultimate scene with V'ger (Ilia-Decker merger)

TWOK -- (1) Mutara nebula; (2) Reliant attack

TSFS -- (1) Stealing the Enterprise; (2) Enterprise self-destruct

TVH -- (1) BoP vs whaling trawler; I can't think of any (2) here. I didn't like the 1701-A reveal, because I wanted them to have the Excelsior!

TFF -- (1) Kirk-Spock-McCoy scenes

TUC -- (1) End battle; (2) Gorkon assassination

All TNG movies -- no remarkable scenes. I disliked pretty much all of them.

On edit: I liked Riker telling Cochrane to turn down the music in the Phoenix, because it suddenly brought him out of character and he became Jonathan Frakes instead.

ST09 -- (1) Kelvin scene

STiD -- (1) Escape from Adm. Marcus / Vengeance attack

STB -- Zzzzzzz....

TFF: 'What does god want with a starship?'
TUC: 'To be or not to be'.....Boom!
GEN: Finding Spot the cat
FC: Lily giving Picard some home truths in his ready room and he freaks out
INS: Sunrise
NEM: Worf hungover hating Gershwin music
2009: Spock kisses Uhura in the lift
ID: Scotty and Kelser in the bar
BEY: Spock laughing (tribute to the TMP scene perhaps?)

None from TMP or TFF

TSfS: Excelsior transwarp breakdown
TVH: Whalers hitting the cloaked BoP
TUC: Final battle

And of course, from TWoK:

Khan: Kirk! Still alive, old friend?

Kirk: Still! Old! Friend! You've managed to kill just about everybody else but like a poor marksman you keep! Mmmissing the target! If you wanna kill me Khan you're gonna have to come down here! You hear me? You're gonna have to come down here!

Khan: I don't have to kill you. I've hurt you, and I wish to go on hurting you. i will leave you as you left me, at the center of a dead planet, burIed alive...buried alive...

Kirk: KHAAAAAAAN! KHAAAAAAAN!

GEN: Data cursing.
FC: Launching to Magic Carpet Ride

I got nothing for the rest of the movies. Let's just call it "diminishing returns."

NEM: Ramming the Scimitar

09: Spock meets Spock
ID: Kirk's death

To quote Mr. Takei; "Oh, my!"

TMP: Any scene featuring the new, beautiful "Enterprise." But especially leaving Space Dock!
TWOK: The "Enterprise" taking first fire from "Reliant."
TSFS: "McCoy, Leonard H; son of David."
TVH: I find this one excrutiating. The end credits, I guess.
TFF: The opening on Nimbus III. I so wish the rest of the film had lived up to this scene's potential.
TUC: Any scene with David Warner.
GEN: "They say time is the fire in which we burn." Or, possibly, the B leaving dock.
FC: The "Enterprise" saving the "Defiant." possibly the EVA.

ID: Peter Weller!
